    Holidays Wheelin?

Fun trail! When you're near the top you cross the AZ Trail. There's a side road that leads to a rock canyon run along the AZ Trail. Along that side trip you get to this spot. Killer views and play time. ALSO: After leaving Ajax Mine and climbing toward the summit, BE VERY CAREFUL for a...

    Holidays Wheelin?

Yes, BUT.....he wasn't even at the bottom where it's REALLY STEEP! Even in my frame-cut 80's I drag my rear bumpers at the climb's start. Sometimes it drags and I just slide sideways toward the gulch. THAT'S STEEP! :D

Hmmm....sounds like somebody did some work there. Regardless...can't be anything near EZ. Too narrow a climb for me to try in the 80. Go Spike!

Slickrock: Extreme Canyon: 3rd pic is Inkpot's 37-inch-tired Pig. HEY INKPOT: Remember me running my stock 100 through this canyon? I had no idea what I was in for, huh?

Ya, that ledge was easier in 2004. Much of it fell apart on a trip in 2005. I wonder what it looks like now. I would have to think even Spike struggled on it? That picture angle on the slickrock is awesome! J

    Holidays Wheelin?

Yes...that's the EZ book route. This area is tricky. It took a while for me to get it down. The wildest thing is that unless someone tells you what's there you'd never know these killer spots existed because they're not in books. Plus, the way in via Apache Leap (instead of Oak Flat) is...

    Holidays Wheelin?

Look at Claudia's first picture set. The upper left one. The trucks are heading up that first hill from Oak Flat along the Book Route. IF they'd a went LEFT at that fork they'd decend to the north pond area. The north pond is between the north side of the extreme hill and the...

    Holidays Wheelin?

Yes...and at the upper right corner of the picture is the top of the extreme canyon. It downhils to the bottom like the slickrock does. Folks can take their choice or do both. I still think the extreme hill is the best, ESPECIALLY if run south to north.

OK....I need to get us back there. The hill, canyon and slickrock are far the best and most challenging of the area. Damn....I need to set this up.

There's two hills that hit the cattle pond. The right hill is extreme though you have to know how to find the north side. The left zig-zag is the book part of the trail...the main trail. Which didja do?

Doesn't look like you ran the extreme hill or canyon?

I know you have "buggy-eyes" on that crazy ledge! I think you're heading up there tonight. :D

    Holidays Wheelin?

This is the worst optional obstacle on the trail. It's not too bad for an FJ40 or Jeep. For LWB and large size, the ditch swallows you and the rock on the right....we don't have the breakover. It's near the middleof the trail run. Now, at the top of this area is Viewpoint 2. You get there...

    Holidays Wheelin?

Nope. The middle. At the base you turn up into a rock ledge. Then, you turn the opposite way and enter this middle area...your pic. You climb the bog rock then immediately climb that big ledge (white truck pic above). After that ledge you approach the top climb (Red Taco). Atop there is...

And entering the area via Apache Leap is the best. You top out at Viewpoint 1 just north of the Hackberry Creek junction. Don't forget Viewpoint 2 at the south end of the powerline.

And, the extreme hill. Awesome! Coming down the other side is equally wild!
