Is it possible they have fallen down and are hiding in the panels? Can you see them if you remove the rear plastic cargo area trim? IIRC you can find them there close to the 2nd row door (C pillar I guess it must be)

Keep those ujoints greased! The FSM yolk greasing guide is a bit vague and lots of folks have lots of warnings about Over greasing the told and damaging the transfer case, but you may have already seen those conversations.
