Thanks! Now just playing the waiting game on getting it in for paint. Forgot to add the pics after the drivetrain was installed and some details on the engine: Gen III LS 5.3 H.O. (L33) Aluminum L33 block 799 heads Stock L33 crank and camshaft. LS1 intake

The engine was finished and mated with the rest of the drivetrain this past week. Here are a few pics as it was being built and just before dropping it in.

Here is a pic of the suspension components before it was installed. Went with 2.5" OME suspension. Only change was the shocks. I have Fox 2.0 shocks that I'll be putting on soon.

Installed our brake lines and set in the gas tank. Check out this 95 blazer tank...looks like it was made to live in there.

Once welds were done, we got the frame sandblasted, primed, and painted. Frame was very solid. There were just a few places that had some pitting, but nothing to difficult.

My motor was still mid build so we borrowed a donor LS to mark our engine mount locations. We ended up a bit forward and about an inch to the driver's idea from hitting our shifter location, but I was afraid to go any further left. Drivers side will be tight between the headers and the...

Used Proffits reverse shackle parts. These front hangers are seriously heavy duty. Maybe a bit overkill, but is there such a thing? We had to cut some notches on the driver side to clear the saginaw PS mount.

GM NV4500 and original 4 speed tcase both got a full rebuild once the adapters arrived. Rebuild was done locally with someone I trust that only uses quality parts. Very happy with how they turned out. Now we're ready to do some test fitting.

Hello friends, going to play catch up on some updates. We had to wait quite a long time to get our adapter kits we ordered from AA. In the meantime, I did take some advice from the forum and found a really solid tub. Took a while to find but the wait was definitely worth it. Much better...

I'm about an hour east of knoxville. Not too far from where you'll be for that event.

You are 100% right. That absolutely is an option. Real Steel has some good stuff, too. That would be my preferred route if I had more time to do the work myself. One day I would like to tackle something like that. I think it would be very rewarding.

Well, @aging fleet hit the nail on the head in his post. It's been all about the tub since that message. I have some options in front of me. What do you guys think? I plan on this being a nice rig. It's not going to be original. I will daily drive it on nice days. If you were in the...

I hear you ginmtb. I've thought about it. I don't know. I guess I thought an original clean tub was a better alternative in terms of fitment and originality. I've purchased all the replacement metal, but I'm still on the fence. Maybe I should do a poll on ih8mud... option 1. Replace...

So basically, she has been around. Rode hard and put up wet. Rear sill is shot. Quarters and front floors need replacing. Wheel wells probably do as well to do it right. The bed is ok but will need work at the sill and a particularly bad area where it meets the mid bed. It rusted all the...

Better see the story on the other side. Have to pull back some of that bed liner. Oh man. Evidently, masking tape and duct tape are all you need to fix rust spots. Just lay the bedliner to it.... It'll be fine.

Alright, so a little more about those dirty little secrets: I think you might agree that the ol' girl looks fairly inviting. Good stance, the diamond plate gives her some attitude, and the black bedliner that covers the entire interior actually looks good. A few little spots here and there...

Thanks! The plan is to build a daily driver. The reason I sold my last mustang ('66 fastback) was because I never drove it. Now my job has a short, 10 mile commute each way which is perfect. I'm going slight restomod this time so that I'll drive it more often. LS 5.3, nv4500, 4 wheel...

Hey friends. I'm going to try and document the progress of my frame off restoration. A little history first…I bought the old girl about 5 years ago. I put a new carb and gas tank on it, and drove it anytime i didn't mind smelling like exhaust fumes and possibly getting stranded. She had a...
