Looks like a Middle East spec truck. Did the six cylinder petrol have a turbo option or is this a diesel?.
Bumper extension on front looks like it should have a winch?
This one hasn't been driven since the eighties. It was offered to me at a price I couldn't refuse in 1994. Originally thought it needed an ignition switch. Now thinking it just the resistor in the circuit when running and bypassed when starting.
Probably doesn't help I always seem to at least...
Just noticed your rear view mirror. Certainly doesn't look like a place to have some peace and quiet. Was there a parking lot besides all the parking on the side of the road?
It really the noise more than the smell why I don't want a diesel. Favorite use of a 40 is driving around the forest. Top off, doors off and windshield folded down in low range the springs were noisier than the engine when I first bought my 68. Doubt a diesel would be anywhere near that quiet.
Guessing being a 75-78 and exhaust out the left side it has one of those stinky four cylinder diesels. Also looks like a Toyota pickup in the background.
Looks to be a 64/65 production with the vent in the bottom of the windshield.
Still have this one in the Flagstaff. Bed it red. Think I seen again this summer.
If the rear was some think of coil spring setup that arched wheel well might do some good with long travel. But with leaf springs would hit the back lower part of the wheel opening long before it hit the top of the rounded arch. It's just wrong.
That's a Willy's. One thing the FJ2X, FJ3X and FJ40 series shared was the same shape instrument cluster and glove box door opening. From the mid fifties to mid eighties openings were the same shape. Those are not the shape. Highly unlikely that would be a Mitsubishi made copy of an old Willy's...
