Thanks!
Yeah, mine was a recall vehicle, but the PO was on top of it and completed the gas tank recall back in 1995. So, my tank is nearing 20 years old.
And yeah, I'll keep you updated on progress. Another set of hands would be great if you're around.
Super close.... Got the bottom of the body painted... that was a s*** TON of work. So glad it's over.. Here's a pic before I sprayed the raptor liner
And the chassis is pretty much ready to go under it... Just need to paint and install the fuel and evap lines:
But, hit a bit of a snag with...
Lol.. I did the exact same thing.. While took pics of every other bolt, when I was taking the fenders off I was in such a rush I just put all the bolts in a pile together. I do have one pic from when I separated the inner/outer fender:
And then @TRAIL TAILOR has done a great job...
Man, thats awesome... I'm envious of your progress. Everything looks great.
I also really like the idea of powder coating the fender liners and core support... Seems way more durable and affordable than paying a shop to paint it.
Man, that looks great... You're now passing me in terms of progress.
Also, you might have made the right call on sending out for CAD plating vs zinc at home (is that zinc or CAD?)... My hardware looks great, but I've found the plating is a bit "fragile".. It tends to wear off with minimal...
Do you have a pic of how that tensioner is mounted? I'm pretty sure it only goes one way, but I found that when I reinstalled mine it barely touched the belt, and that the belt was still able to contact the bottom radiator hose when the engine was revving.
I just chose option three and am finishing up the disassembly part of the process. See here. You're timeline seems a bit short, but I suppose limiting what components you disassemble, paint, and rebuild can have a big effect. I'm stripping EVERYTHING, powder coating everything, and replacing...
