I am thinking of building a currie setup. I love bolt in but damn i hate the location. I can fab and have installed a sway bar on a linked truck before. Hell, i even HAD half the parts to do it, some blingy billet aluminum arms, but ain’t got a clue where they went!!!!
As I figure, i would...
My front sway with a 3” lift and 3” blocks makes contact on driveshaft at full droop and heavy articulation. I pulled it for now, until i can figure it out. Also, my bushings were SHOT, well one went missing, and toyota dealer forgot to give me my second one. Gotta get back over there.
It allows articulation of the arm but its all free of bind, until it gets really angled(usually more than a axle will articulate) so it leaves the stress off of the mounting points. Bushings are at some amount of bind at anything past 1*, so always stressing if there is any axle angle at all...
s*** i wish. I would think, losing weight would improve handeling, but its the weight down low, so the top could feel heavier? I would treat the rear the same as with an ls swap, the front i would leave stock, see how it handles and go from there. Any “lift” will end up taller from all the lost...
I guess with you guys ordereibg the tjm can install asap, get back to us on how good it is. For 200 shipped(my quote) i can spend 50 more and get the whiteline. Either way, it would be an improvement. Glad i asked about this, you guys are awesome.
Damn it! Shouldnt have posted the link! Haha, jk. I bought front 4.88 gears instead. More important. Got g2 master install kit and gears for 372. Gotta love the homie hookup.
Im also in the middle of putting together my fab bumpers, so money is more than tight.
Ill order a sway bar next month.
On a website, they list 3 rear sway bars from whiteline. Btr46, btr46x and btr57. The 46x is extra heavy duty but the ither two appear to be similar or the same. Whitline only the 46 and 46x, so id be inclined to stick to those numbers. Not sure if i need the extra heavy duty or what.
Seems...
i get a lot of top sway with my 80. Icon 3” springs ride great, but im afraid if i have to correct hard at high speed or even driving in town. I have a roof rack, awning and will be putting gas and water up there, so its going to get worse.
I see whiteline makes some. Who else? Best bang for...
