I agree on what you wrote totaly...
Since I have gone through this ordeal, I say to the folks out there DO NOT IGNORE A HISSING GAS CAP. It is telling you that the carcol canister needs attention or otherwise you will have more issue down the road like a cracked fuel tank.

As far as the vent & filler hoses... I didnt have any trouble getting the filler & vent hoses here is my parts list.
I will be finally swapping the tank in two days.

My patch held fine also till I took it up past 6K elevation. I did find a local tank, just need to find the time to get it in there. Half tank method works but a pain on longer trips.

I came back to this thread to find out has anyone been able to find a replacement tank that fits. I'm coming across numbers of $500 to $700 for new & used tanks both the same. The pick & pull is cheap but is 70 miles away & what are the odds of...
My patch work great till I went up in altitude wheelin. The preasure blew it out. When at sea level my tank is on suck at fill ups... I need it figure out what the problem is before I just get a new tank... in the mean time 3/4 full is doing the trick.
Has anyone tryied to pound that corner down with a brass hammer to change the stress to another location? I'm going to try it... then smash some of that puddy stuff in there... hope it will work over the week end.
I even saw a vid that someone shoved bar soap in a tank hole... it must be true it...
