Exactly the reason I bought a crate engine. After doing the math to refurb a "runner" I picked up from somewhere but would benefit from a refresh and a DOD delete before being installed it just made more sense.
Mine was the first Gen V LT1 out of Tor's shop, backed by an 8l90e. (saved from scrap link in my sig)
Not a ton of details on the swap itself though, if that's what you're looking for since Tor handled the work.
I ended up rebuilding my box - it was definitely due. Also replaced TREs, set proper steering preload, changed to a dobbie stabilizer, added Delta arms up front and panhard correction in the back and had a 4-wheel alignment. so it's hard to say how much difference the box alone made.

Depends what load you've added to the OEM fuse blocks. I run a 280A alternator, but the added load is all run through a new fuse block and a switchpro that are tied directly to the battery.
Not sure i agree. My AMG CLS 63 ran electric and certainly wasn't an economy vehicle. Even in 110F+ with twin turbos and me driving it like it was stolen i never managed a coolant temp over 204 and an oil temp over 240. And that's a larger displacement and hotter engine with a smaller rad than a...
Seconding on @Delta VS quality. I've beaten the tar out of mine since I installed it and the swing outs still close like they were new, even with a 37 and fuel mounted and driving over moon rocks at 30MPH for days.
