Hey all.. Yeah, my tent (used 1 time previously!) is also not waterproof.. But, I finally got the green light for an RV after the new house is built!!! I've been trying to talk her into it for YEARS... but something about waking up to water dripping on your head while the neighbors are...
I got in at the 'racer's camp' - Group camp - the organizer offered all racers free camping. We'll be pulling in Saturday morning, racing, and then heading back to setup camp.
My tow rig is a plain looking red Chevy 3/4 ton with a thin red line front plate and soft tonneau.
Oh, they'll take a picture of some buggy throttling up Kodak and kicking a few rocks and talk about erosion... then one of a rig that broke, puking fluids into the dirt.. To top it off, a photo of a rig that hits a tree and the bark it stripped off it...
We almost went into a tree at a decent...
Setup the suspension yesterday.. cranked in another inch of ride height for more uptravel, and adjusted the dual rate collars to bring in the main rate more quickly, in anticipation of the hard hits we'll be taking. A little romp around the back yard up to 35-40 mph over some rough terrain...
Though a winch isn't a bad thing, I don't think it's gonna help you, and I'd do without the extra 100lbs on the front end. A stout bumper probably wouldn't hurt though, just in case you end up in a direction you didn't intend to be in ;)
The event will be brutal on the rigs for sure. My prediction is that you're going to see lots of steering failures and knuckles ripped off in the lower classes, as well as broken leaf center pins and bent / folded links, if they drive it like they are in it to win.
I've got my bets on who will...
I'm entered in D class.
I know I don't stand much chance of a win unless there's some catastrophic failure on a few other rigs, but I think I stand a decent chance of taking home a little cash.. :)
