I bought a complete pull out (motor, trans, computer) from Hawks Motorsports.
They drop shipped it to the shop who did my swap.
Setup came from a rear ended Camaro SS with 13k miles. I’ve put 30k miles on my swap and would do it all over again...
L99, 6l80e, factory PCM (engine, tranny and pcm was pulled together from 2011 camaro). Drive by Wire.
I want to say the dakota unit is their CRC-1000
We're using the factor cruise controls on the steering column now. The dakota unit sits between the pedal and the PCM as I understand it.
Did some searching and aside from the DBW mention, is anyone having luck with cruise control other than Dakota Digital (DD)?
My LS swap has been running DD for ~20k miles without issue but recently started acting up (it would go dead). Swapped in a new unit and problem got worse. Pedal would...
Subject: P2138 (accelerator ped sensor) & Dakota Digital
Curious if anyone has run into this before. I've gone ~18 months since my 6.2L swap was completed (by a shop) with zero issues. Yesterday morning, after cruising for ~5 miles at 70mph with cruise control engaged, my acc pedal totally...
They did ask me where it's garaged, but nothing else came from that request.
I've "heard" they don't like seeing >5k miles/year on a car, but I have a hagerty rep in our office and he tells me not to sweat it. I'm at ~one year since my swap was completed and have put 12k miles on the truck so...
I'm running 4.88's, low range t-case gears, 37's and a 6.2. I did proactively upgrade the front and rear axle shafts to RCV 300M's to help, but I've only been able to wheel the truck a handful of times.
While the LS should certainly be capable to breaking stuff easier than the 1FZ, I...
I have a mildly built 200 (lift, tires, sliders and front bumper), as well an 6.2L in my 80 series. My 80 has a 6L80, 37's and 4.88's. It can tow my loaded utility trailer very well, but the lift/tires and IFS vs SFA setups makes them a bit different in terms of towing capability. If I'm going...
It's been a while since I calculated it. I'm probably closer to 12ish. In theory, perhaps I should be doing better and there might be area for improvement, but with double the stock HP and same mileage, I always figured that was a fair trade off.
Agreed; maybe in near stock form. I'm sure there are a tons of variables that play into it. You're running a 5.3, 6,0, 6.2? Not sure how much that plays a difference, but assume it could.
I'm running 4.88's, 37's and 6L80e. It's great.
RPM's at 70mph are right around 2100 and speedo is almost dead on.
edit: would be curious what others are seeing for cruising revs. I've been tempted by the 10% high range overdrive to further drop my revs for highway cruising.
I think I found the source of my oddly low coolant temps reported several posts back.
I removed the thermostat and found the motor had a 160* t-stat installed. :bang:
Ordered a 180* and a 187* to see if that does the job. 187* is the OEM recommendation for a number of the LS motors; would be...
