This is an awesome discovery. Hopefully you’ll do a write up documenting this in the 60 section. I’ve taken quite a few of these apart and still confused on a few things you shared above. A separate thread showing detailed step by step changes/options would be tremendous for the community. Very...
Had these stripes custom made last summer and applied them last weekend. This weekend I joined quite a few friends at the Lonstar Roundup in central TX. Was an awesome time
Should have provided these pics for reference. Lots of good products out there. Been using this one for years and familiar with what each grade will do.
Thank you. Very true about doing this. I’m still working to improve this process. Been doing it on and off for several decades. The camera makes it look better than my actual skill level. I love dead presidents, but there’s no currency that would get this one from me. However, always glad...
Thank you. I use McGuiars product. Start with the 100 compound on a wool pad. Followed by the 85 compound on a medium pad and lastly I polish with a fine foam pad with #82. The key on this job was wet sanding with 1500 and then 2000 grit paper.
It’s been 7 years since I painted this. Rarely washed it and never put wax on it. A lot of pin stripping and etch marks on the hood from many different things Mother Nature has to offer. Spent the weekend hitting the paint with 2000 grit paper and a 3-stage buffing process. Hope to get several...
Yes sir. Good catch. The clip that holds the cable on the DS of the case was not there. A zip tie or other method will be used to eliminate any risk of the cable running too close
I posted this in a different thread but thought it might be helpful for the main 60 group. While rebuilding this most recent t-case a friend @iansplatinum pointed out that I did not install the washer/spacer under the hi/lo shift selector. I’ve built a few cases so understand the risk of...
Thank you guys. And yes, Zach will do this for anyone. It’s one of the many skills he has in cruiser restoration. His mud name is
@Nomadcruisers44
His turnaround time for me was a few weeks back in the December timeframe.
That h55 is a great upgrade. I went through the same decision making process on seats and ended up sending my factory seats to Zack at Nomad Cruisers in CO Springs and he rebuilt the bottom and backs with 3 diff levels (soft/med/firm) of memory foam. I’m extremely happy with them
Thank you. A buddy of mine @BigHighBlue actually has a set of chrome 70 series rims on his 60. Have never seen them anywhere else and did not believe they were 16’s until I took a closer look. Ben, post a pic if you can.
Meant to post this for those that may be getting ready to do a knuckle job. Got these hub selector bolts from @ToyotaMatt
Very happy with the way they tie in with the OME shackles etc.
