Not all Toyota Dealers are created equal. MSRP does NOT mean that tit is the same number with every Toyota dealer. This is well documented. I have 5 dealerships within 50 miles of my house. I have sent a significant list to all of them for their pricing. The one closest to my hose ended up...

Open the loom, find all the crispy bits and strip and replace. Not an easy undertaking IMO, but I'm not a sparky.

A screwdriver between the two posts to act as a lever and help you hold the square block from turning. Replacement junction blocks are available from Wits' End or Toyota.

No, the fuel pump on these does not run until the engine is cranking. You would need to bypass the fuel pump from the fuel pump relay under the hood. I have not personally done it, so I'm not going to tell you which pins to jump, but if you can read electrical wiring diagrams (EWD) then you...

You disturbed the wiring harness near the EGR. I'm guessing you have some bare, broken, or melted wires in there that you were unaware of. Then, as you tried it you may have smoked one leg of the fusible links. Do you have a CEL with the key in the "run" position? If not, then it will not...

We have used the jump seats in mine a couple times. Only because on a long distance ride, our oldest son, who is 6'-2" does not fit well in the second row. So, he moved to the third row, folded up the second row for leg clearance, then youngest sat alone in the second row. Not the most...

ScanGage is the other brand a lot of folks also use. I prefer the layout of the UltraGauge and there are more page selections. I have a Gen1 of the UG and I have a Gen 2 in my wife's van and it has a lot better layout. They were only $100 when I last checked. They're even less now. Get the...

I plug mine in on the fuse panel by your left knee (modified the plug so I could still use the cover) then run the cord over in front of the clock.

You may want to get a UltraGauge so you can continuously monitor most of the things going on with your truck. (Not transmission temps though) I have one and I monitor alternator output, engine temps, and O2 sensors most of the time and I can diagnose an issue before it's a problem.

What belts do you have on this? Toyota OEM or aftermarket? If aftermarket, do the belts have a ribbed inside? If so, the noise is from them hitting the idler pulley. Otherwise, you need to inspect the bearings in both of the idler pulleys to isolate the noise. Second step is to remove the...

A very long time ago, a good friend of mine worked in an engine rebuild shop with a hot tank. They caught a mouse in the shop. They made an aluminum foil boat for him..... He set sail on a 3 minute trip. A 3 minute trip. The captain went down with his ship.

If you use a true "hot tank" you'll only end up with an internal baffle when you're done. A hot tank will dissolve aluminum. So, you can use Simple Green, but they key is dilution and time with the solution on it. Any soap is corrosive to aluminum, but how bad it eats it depends on the...
