He didn’t mention the year of his 80 to me, but if he has the cloth headliner with the bows and he is going to be welding roof holes (which I don’t recommend) then it’s a good idea to drop the headliner in the section he is welding. But that involves removing all the windows to properly remove...
I didn’t drop the headliner, just did a deep clean with it in place. But if you have a couple other people and you are careful, it shouldn't be too hard to to remove. Looks like only a few fasteners and removing the lip of the window surround rubber/gaskets. But that’s a lot of work for welding...
Yes, was on craigslist for nearly six months I think. Mostly because original asking price was like $11k. It slowly dropped to a more fair asking price and we bought it. Plan is to fix the blown head gasket, engine overhaul, brakes, fix extensive body rust, new exterior paint and full interior...
There are 4 areas of rust on the body that need to be cut out with new metal welded in. The largest is about the size of a grapefruit. The frame and interior floor boards were surprisingly rust free! All rust repair will be done in house (myself and Mr AlohaJen) as well as the head gasket job...
Rubbing it in would be me saying I got it for $2k and it runs great…but it doesn’t. It’s got a blown head gasket and needs some rust repair done on the body. It will be a big project, but looking forward to it.
My name is Jenny, and I have a problem.
My main problem is saying no to poverty striken 80 series.
1994 Fzj80 191k miles. No sunroof, cloth interior, no factory roof rack, no rear wind deflector, manual front seats.
Thanks! I’m using a cheap Amazon backup camera. Color image and quality of video is great, but plastic and build quality is what I would expect for the $10 I paid for it, so we’ll see how long it lasts.
Finished up an interior restoration of my 80. New leather covers front and back from Lseat (mixed reviews), removal and deep clean of the original carpets, headliner and plastic/vinyl interior panel scrub down, new radio with backup camera to finally retire the original tape deck. It’s almost...
Here is a link to the guys eBay page.

I have no affiliation with it or the company, but he did ask me if he could use my pictures on his eBay page.
Installed some upper radiator outlet protection. Bolts right on to the upper fan shroud bolt. 3D printed from a guy on eBay, not sure if he is here on mud.
Its been a while since I posted up on the 80’s weekend fun section. I did a photo shoot for the Toyota Trail Teams guys over on IG for some of their apparel. My 80 series made a cameo in most photos, and it performed flawlessly of course!
Been a while since I got the 80 out for some fun. Packed the 80 up for a beach day with the new puppy (which has grown so fast he doesn’t look much like a puppy!).
Beautiful November day out here on the north shore. As usual, the 80 performed flawlessly!
Boyfriend!??! If I had a boyfriend it would probably make my husband pretty upset!
But I would definitely recommend getting the 60, even better if you can find one that’s got a fancy Diesel engine in it!!
As for the beach bod.....its all smoke n mirrors, creative lighting and photoshop...
