   one wire goes to the ecu, the other to the gauge. i will check the ground first to make sure it's good.

   Romer - thanks for the tips. I don't actually know how to do any of those things you listed, but I will learn. The sub tank was never working. PO installed the tank and fill neck and provided the gauge console. I had to do the plumbing and wiring.

   overhead sending wire goes to the sending unit on the tank. Is it possible that the sending unit wires needs to be switched? one goes to George's ECU and the other to the overhead gauge.
