Bought Russ's old trailer last spring. Price was right but it needed a few things.
No brakes, simple just convert to electric brakes. So I thought. Trailer is an old U-Haul and nothing on it is a normal size. I couldn't find hubs or backing plates that would fit the axles that were on there...
Buddy and I are swapping a trans in his 95 Chevy pick-up.
Leaving the motor in the truck and pulling the trans out thru the bottom.
Have all the bolts out, lines are off, it's all un-hooked. The only thing
thats holding the two together are the aligning dowels. We can't get them
to apart! Steel...
With the SOA kit the pumpkin side spring perch is 2 piece.
Any pics of assembly?
I assume that I need to tack the 2 pieces together, grind to
fit the axle, then weld them together.
Figure out where on the axle they go and weld them on?
Anything else I should think about?
Retirement time is getting closer. Bette and I plan to do some
RV'ing using a medium size trailer. I had been considering the
F150 Ecoboost. Enough truck for the size trailer we will pull plus
decent everyday Mpg. Big problem is the price for even a used one.
$40K is more than we want...
I'll be leading #5 on Friday, it is an intermediate plus trail.
Would suggest 33's and a locker or winch.
Landslide offers several hillclimbs from easy to hardcore.
Plenty of room for more than one rig at a time to do the
slide. First run not hard enough for you take the easy
trail...
New at bodywork. Just trying to straighten out some trail damage on my
40. Rear fender is pretty caved in, near the top of the wheel well it's pushed in an inch or
so and near the bottom I have a pretty severe bulge.
Where do I start?
They are doing 20% off! Good time to save a few bucks!

What are people using for speedometers and sending units?
Really would like to know exactly which sending unit people use.
I'm running a SM420 to 3 speed case, just won a MetalTech
gauge bezel and would like to use it in my 40.
Bette and I along with my sister and brother inlaw will be leaving Monday for 3 weeks!
We rented an RV this time. Will meet up with our friend at Elmendorf for a few days. Have the Salmon guide booked for a day. Back down to Seward for a few days, Anchorage for a couple then driving a big...
