It does make sense to me to have the switch in the on position otherwise it's not getting any signal at all. This is my 5th cruiser with a DD and I've had pretty good luck with them thus far.
I played around with it today and figured it out. I do have both sending units with the same ohms and they are both grounded together with the ground going to the DD brain as I call it. What I've found is that the switch must be in either on position when you turn the key. If not, the DD is...
Has anyone hooked up a Dakota Digital cluster with 2 fuel tanks. I'm trying to do it with a DPDT switch, but I keep getting a EEE fuel error on the display. I've followed Downey's general directions on how to wire it up and the plumbing, but it seems like I'm missing a step here or there???
That's what I was intending to do, but my mount has that vertical part on the right side as you look at it. Yours is on the left...the same way it is in the directions. Yours looks to be welded while mine is bent to shape. I'll post a picture tomorrow when I have some light on it to compare.
So, you need this relay kit to run 7" lights? I'm asking because I ordered the light housings from Kelly. The grille is just to nice to not have the lights to go with it!
Oh, ok. I was under the impression that the horn bracket would work along with the grille bracket. The directions didn't say anything about removing the horn bracket, but in the end I was able to make it work. I will post a picture of it later on when I get home.
I tried that, but they interfere with each other when you try to attach it. As your looking at it from the front of the vehicle you can see where if that bracket was bent on the left side it would work, but it's bent on the right side which doesn't allow the horn bracket to be used without...
Kelly, one thing that was an issue was the passenger side mount bracket is bent on the wrong side. I see on your site the bend is on the right side (welded) in the picture. On the piece I got the bend is opposite of that and not welded. I had to cut the horn bracket to make it work. Not...
Eric,
Maybe I missed it, but is this thing lifted? If so, how much? I really dig the wheel/tires combo. It has a great stance. Yours could be a twin to my 69 FST. Great build!
