Hi Guys
I recently replaced the fuel mixture screw on my 2F Asian carb. (The head and spring were missing off the old one.) I've always read you start off my backing out the screw 1 1/2 turns. It seems mine starts running smooth when I back out about 3 turns. Should I be worried?
Thx bigredrocker. I'll check them out.
On a positive note, my FJ started with the rebuilt carb on the first try!
I just don't trust the existing idle screw.
I guess I haven’t been on ih8mud in a while. Who would I be ordering from?
The rebuild kit from coolcruisers didn’t include the idle screw. Not a very good kit actually.
Btw, pinhead I really appreciate your YouTube videos. They were extremely helpful.
Does anyone know how I can find a carb idle screw? I have an '82.
I couldn't find it thru SOR, CoolCruisers, NAPA, etc
Looks like previous owner drilled a little to far past the plug and messed up the screw. Not to mention the spring is gone. I'm surprised idle hasn't changed from driving. I'm...
I should have gone LED. I just replaced my dash bulbs with the CoolCruiser magnum bulbs and I'm now blowing my fuse. Fuse is 15 amp, but I see some circuits are 20 amp. Has anyone else gone through this? Wondering if it's safe to switch to a 20 amp.
It worked. Thx. I was trying assemble with shims in place. Once gears were at opposite ends, it was definitely easiest to insert shims as I pushed pin through.
So in removing my axles, my pinion gears slipped out of place. Now I'm trying to get the pinion gears, shims and axle spacer assembled, which is a bit tricky from under the car. Is there a video or thread out there anyone knows of that shows the procedure and tricks to use?
Thx motov8r. I'm actually referring to up/down play when looking at the wheel end of the axle, not in/out play.
I do plan on replacing the c clips anyway. The up/down play is really small and barely noticeable. I gotta think it's bearing play since they ride loose in their retainer and are not...
Should the rear axle have a tiny amount of lateral play? I was wondering if I should replace my bearings while I do my seals but the bearings look fine. I'd hate to replace good bearings only to find some lateral play is normal due to bearing to shaft tolerance.
Thanks in advance!
Joe
Has anybody used aftermarket weatherstrip, such as what's offered by JT Outfitters or CruiserCorps?
I don't mind a little modification.
I will probably replace anyway once I get the car painted, so I'm trying to avoid buying factory weatherstipping...twice.
does anyone know where exactly this seal goes? All I know is that it's an upper door seal. A pic would really be helpful. Hard to tell by sor.com diagrams.
Thanks Adam. That's good to know.
How long ago was that? Are the seams holding up?
My upholsterer didn't like how the seems were 'open ended'...I think that means that they can tear through.
