    Clutch suddenly dead

Ok.. So my buddy came over earlier and I had him help me bleed the clutch properly. It firmed up a bit and feels more like it originally did. Everything seems to be in proper working order again! Thanks for all the help everyone! I'm sure I'll be back with more issues in the near future. I'll...

    Clutch suddenly dead

Just got back from Canada and threw in the new slave. Appears to be working, though I didn't bleed it properly that I know.. It was only me. So I opened the bleed sure on the slave, filled the master, pumper the clutch until the fluid came out the bleed screw, tightened the bleed screw, topped...

    Clutch suddenly dead

Thanks guys! It turns out that Napa has the incorrect part listed on their website and their internal system as well. I brought it back and they confirmed with the company that makes the slave that it only fits up to a 69 or 70 (forget which). Ordered the correct slave. Should be here tomorrow...

Thanks again everyone! I'm headed out turkey hunting now and am going to pick up the slave when I'm done and put it in. Gonna order the master and take care of it sometime in the near future. Will report back with my hopeful success!

Thanks again! So it seems like I can pick up a slave cylinder in stock today.. Master they can have within a couple days.. Being the impatient type.. Is it worth doing the slave now and hoping the master doesn't conk out? What's involved in rebuilding vs. replacing the master? Thanks!

    Clutch suddenly dead

Thanks for all the replies. It's much appreciated. Pretty much what I though based on the other threads I founds was just hoping it might be something as easy as replacing the fluid and bleeding.. So being the newb I am.. I'm assuming the master is the original photo I posted and the slave is...

    Clutch suddenly dead

Hey all.. New to the forum and new to LCs.. Always wanted an FJ40 and recently had the opportunity to pick up a 72 for a good price. Seems to run solid but needs some cosmetic work for sure. Fair warning.. I'm a total newb and fairly clueless when it comes to engines, etc. I mean, I change...
