Selling my 92, I've owned it for 12 years and just don't have time for it lately.
The tires need replacing badly, the tread is OK but they are old and one is worn on the edge unevenly. I do drive this once a week, mostly to keep the battery up, but lately I've been staying under 30 mph while...
The sector shaft looks fine. All the rods and ends do as well, I'm hoping that doing a toe adjustment and then straightening the steering wheel with the drag link arm will make it "normal"
But I'm also worried about all that could of bent... I just rebuilt my entire front axle and diff, new...
So, my rim is bent, and steering wheel isn't tracking straight (but truck seemed to drive the same otherwise).
I'm assuming a bent rod within the steering, won't know till warm weather.
But what about this rim, fixable? Damage seen at bottom of picture.
If not, anyone know what rims these...
That's the only other place I'm left wondering about.
I'll check it if I can find where the drain is. My question/thought about it would be can it hold enough water to slosh and can it get rain water in it, as I haven't run the AC recently.
Well, I pulled all the rubber plugs on the rockers, dry as a bone.
I took the panels off and checked the quarters, and took the rubber plugs out of each quarter panel. Also bone dry...
The roof gutter sometimes leaks and some water gets inside the A pillar, but otherwise I've never seen or...
I will check them tonight for sure.
So, on the bottom of the rocker panels there are 3 rubber grommets, both my front most ones are already off.
Do these all drain different "sections" of the rocker panels does anyone know? I am wondering if the back 3rd of the rocker can be filled with...
I know, it seems like it has to be the panels...
When I checked them, both panels have the front most plugs missing already, I parked it on a down hill which should of drained water out, but nothing came out.... And I heard the sloshing after that still.
So I've heard water slosh around before but always assumed it was gas in the fuel tank.
After a hard rain storm, I heard it worse than ever so I'm sure its water trapped somewhere.
I've checked my drain slits in the rocker panels and also poured water on the sunroof, which exited quickly out...
Thanks so much for all the info, great stuff.
There is a red LED installed on the left side of the dash, I'm guessing for the locker.
We have a CDL switch and auto when in low range.
Here is my rear hub - FF?
Rusty and now I'll be doing something to protect it!
Great info Linus! That is not in the door code, but I do have rear disc brakes!
I always thought the disc brakes were installed by themselves. Had no clue it would be the entire rear axle.
So cool.
The switch is in a very weird place, take a look -
I want to say, having the words lock and...
While I was rebuilding my front axle/diff last summer, The front driveshaft separated/fell apart while it sat waiting for the rebuilt diff.
Having not planned for this, I didn't mark the shaft.
So, no big deal, the 3 zerks line up just like in the FSM and your good to go....
Well, the U-Joint...
Follow up on this old thread.
I just rebuilt my front axle and differential. Doing all that I couldn't sit and breath gas so I removed the canister and plugged the line to the tank.
Smell was gone, canister stunk for weeks while it sat far away from me...
I replaced the VCV, which should be...
Thanks for all the input guys. I will cross my fingers and maybe they won't be too seized...
Valid point, I will try not to stress about it.. I am just so ready to drive this and get my weekends back! Seems like everything I do just causes more to do.
I bought a flare nut wrench to remove the rubber brake line from the metal line.
I will hit the nut with penetrating oil for a few days and I am just hoping it comes off easy. This is the last thing after my front axle/diff rebuild to do before I can drive it!
My question is (I have been...
So I bought a new Toyota seal, pulled my axle and ripped out the new seal I had just installed.
As you can see from the pic, although the groove isn't as bad as I remembered it being, it is there...
I under drove the new seal. I figure the groove was either caused by factory installed seal...
