FOR 3" Suspension Kit (circa 2007) - Need Shocks

I weighed the truck today. It came out to 6100 with two passengers, about 200lbs heavier upfront. Thinking about getting the Icon 2.5 cdcv. Maybe I will call them to see what they have to say. See if it makes sense to try them with the FOR springs first, then move to OME heavies if needed

FOR 3" Suspension Kit (circa 2007) - Need Shocks

Thanks for the feedback. No doubt, the rig is heavy. I forgot to mention it has sliders too. Here are a couple other things though. No additional weight has been added to the truck since I bought it three years ago. For the first year, it never bottomed out. Also, the tires were worn evenly (at...

FOR 3" Suspension Kit (circa 2007) - Need Shocks

No, I don't. Through my research here, I found some general information about the springs. They don't have as many windings as an OME, but are just as long, if not longer. They have a higher pitch. Somewhere I saw the rates, but those were a newer version built in 2009 or so. The Bilsteins are...

FOR 3" Suspension Kit (circa 2007) - Need Shocks

I have a 1997 80-series with Frankie's Off Road springs and old Bilsteins. I love the ride except for the annoyance of bottoming out when riding trails and on crap sections of highway. It is a heavy rig with an ARB bumper and 12k lb winch on the front; HD bumper w/spare, jack, and a receiver on...

P0401(EGR) caused by running too long with a P0141(O2)

I have been down the path of the dreaded EGR problem triggering the P0401. Eighteen months ago, I replaced the EGR valve and the VSV only to find out the cause was a split vacuum hose. A year later, the CEL came on again. Because of work and family, I just kept blowing it off. Now, I have a...

    Another EGR Question!

P0401 EGR problem solved (hopefully)! I checked the line going from the EGR valve through the intake manifold to the VSV by blocking it off at the VSV side. It would't hold vacuum. After searching with an inspection mirror, I found the culprit was the vacuum line coming off the underside of the...

    Another EGR Question!

Okay, I have vacuum going into the modulator. However, I got no vacuum when I T'd between the modulator and the EGR valve. After I plugged the line from the EGR that goes into/through the manifold to the VSV, I get vacuum. The VSV is new though not exact OEM. I am going to do the VSV test per...

    Another EGR Question!

98 Snake Eater, thanks for the modulator test. I hooked up the Mighty Vac to the bottom port of the modulator and can get vacuum, but without having to cover the P, R and Q ports. It holds vacuum without those ports being blocked (see picture). What does that mean?

    Another EGR Question!

I have gone through so many threads to try to figure this out. Replaced EGR Valve (new OEM part came with truck) and VSV. Modulator tests fine. Still getting P0401 (Insufficient Exhaust Gas Flow). According to the EGR System Test in the FSM I T'd between the Modulator and the EGR valve, and...

    Oil leak - Diagnostic Help

Hello everyone. I am a Newbie here. Looking for some help troubleshooting an oil leak on a 1997 Lexus LX 450. It is concentrated around the oil pans. Oil is blowing across the underside of the truck when underway. There isn't much leakage when stationary (other than residual oil dripping after a...
