I’ve got a pair of round Aurora driving combo lights and a pair of diode dynamics ss3 sae fog lights. The auroras throw a ton of light and have held up great for the price.
I just installed the 3.5vts (heavies) on my 94 and would recommend their 3” flexis for light rigs. Even with a front bumper and winch, the variables are generating about 4” of lift up front and the same in back (that’ll drop once I add my dual swingout). As you may know, once you get into 4”...
Hi Dan, the exact thing happened to me on the back of Elephant Hill a few months ago. Turned out the culprit was loose/dirty connection of my positive battery cable to the terminal was causing an arc that killed power after the initial attempt to start the truck. I only figured that out after...
Thanks for the feedback and advice. Good to know I'm under no obligation to settle anytime soon. And I never considered the fact that I could negotiate a non-totaled value. I hope it doesn't come to that, but at least I know it's an option.
I spoke with an appraiser whose been in the business...
If only they appreciate the Toyota Tax. I hit em with that one but it had zero effect. Nor did the stack of invoices and page of comps I sent them. Turns out they'll only compare my truck to 94s and 95s within 400 miles, because no one's ever driven 900 miles to buy a car /s.
The challenge is they're evaluating the 80 as if they're all equal. In their opinion, a 94 with no rust, 11k in mechanical reconditioning, and 250k miles is worth the same as a 94 that's rusted to hell, hasn't been maintained, and has 250k miles on the clock.
Hoping the Mud community can help me save my 80. I got in an accident (my fault) and Allstate is lowballing the hell out me on the truck's market value, calling it a total loss. We've been going back and forth and they refuse to move. Now we're at the point where an appraisal is the only thing...
Cruiser entered the weekend looking like this.
We're heading up to Steamboat this weekend so I spent the last couple of weekends getting her ready for her first extended excursion.
First order of business was to replace the dry-rotted Toyos with 285 Duratracs. I ran the Duratracs on my old...
So I've read most of what there is to read on repairing the rear diff lock actuator but I'm still not completely clear on what to do if all I want to do is swap out my old (broken) actuator with a new one. Can I just rip and replace the thing or does it require a bit more precision?
I might have found the culprit. When I was swapping out fluids this weekend I was able to crawl under the truck and listen to it while it was idling. It sounded like it was coming from the number one oil pan. So I pushed on it to see if that'd have any effect. It did and the noise subsided. As...
Wondering if any of you can help me troubleshoot a rattle my 94 LC has recently developed.
So far the rig has been running great considering it has 243,000 miles on the clock. However, it just developed a higher pitch rattle towards the front of the engine bay. Here's the thing: it only...
Problem solved. I got around to replacing the interior belts and that did the trick. (Don't know why I didn't replace them when I swapped out the exterior belts.) The old ones were worn out enough that they weren't able to apply the pressure needed to create a good seal between the belts and the...
I went out and took a look at them with the windows down and up and in between. I hate to toss Toyota under the bus, but it seems like the rubber that should extend over the felt does in some places but not in others.
