When I bought my 94 FZJ80 a few years ago, it had relatively new OME shocks and springs. They were decent, but a few years into ownership, they were torn to shreds and wreaking havoc on my tires and ride and drive quality. Funny enough, the rear shocks were blown out and the front had help up...
So the other day my cats melted and I took the truck into the shop to see what the problem was. Turns out my MAF sensor is bad and the truck is running lean, which is what melted my cats.
The list on a new MAF is $997.00. Need help sourcing a MAF. I will also post in the classifieds, but if...
Yesterday I'm driving home to Miami from Tampa and my truck drops to 40mph from 70mph and starts making loud air wooshing noises.
Slowly drove to mechanic who told me my cats were clogged and the excess air was going through the exhaust manifold. I was in the middle of nowhere so we couldn't...
So I discovered on my way to work today that my DD 94 FZJ80's drivers side window is stuck in the down position.
When I try to press up, I can hear the motor running. A grinding noise.
Any help appreciated. Any way to crank it up manually?
Turns out the motor is stripped.
Thinking about giving the truck a fresh coat of paint once my tax refund comes in. Depends on how much it is.
I like the idea of a "gunmetal gray" color. Or a two tone blue and beige.
As for finish, I would like not matte, but not shiny, if that makes sense. I would also like it to be...
How do you guys keep your coolant reservoirs in place?
Yesterday was going through some nasty stuff and I guess it got dislodged and fell down into the engine compartment open. Didn't notice it until this afternoon. Dumped about half my coolant.
The fireproofing attached to the hood is falling off from 2 of the "clips". The material is torn and won't hang on.
I'm tempted to just superglue it to the hood or clips.
Anyone have suggestions or idea that don't involve replacing the entire fire sheet?
The touch up paint for our trucks is discontinued. If you give NAPA the factory color code, they will mix a spray on touch up paint. Its a perfect match and even has that metallic effect the factory paint has.
14.99 for a big can.
So I pulled the ARB to do some work on the sunroom and the rack rails. Now that it'd off I can see the sun has taken its toll on the rack. Would like to repaint it before I put it back on. I know it's powder coated but I was thinking of rattle canning it.
Should I go with black again, or try...
For the life of me I cannot get at this bolt. No tool will fit. Got all the others off.
Its not stuck or anything. Just not enough space to get a wrench or socket into
