Request: list of RPMs at certain speeds with stock tires

I am a little embarrassed because a simple search answered my question. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/99-highway-rpm-range.1092936/

Request: list of RPMs at certain speeds with stock tires

How about this? For those with stock tires, 2000 LX470, what is the RPMs at 70 mph? I can calculate the difference with my taller tires.

Request: list of RPMs at certain speeds with stock tires

Sometime back I think I remember seeing a list of RPMs at 50mph, 60mph etc with stock tires. I wanted to compare that with what I have. I know I will need to adjust for my tires that are a little taller. Does anyone have such a list? thanks,

Water inlet gasket question 2000 LX470

The gasket is factory applied, semi pliable. Sealed to the face. Now I have doubts is OEM. I have been purchasing items for the timing belt job starting about four years ago. Could be OEM or Denso or ?

Water inlet gasket question 2000 LX470

I have a gasket leak under the front water bypass on my 2000 LX470. I have a new front bypass, gaskets and a new water inlet. I plan on removing the throttle body to get access. This new OEM water inlet has a pre-installed black gasket attached to the water inlet surface (photo). I have only...

When & how to replace stabilizer bar, bushings, cushions & links (AKA sway bar)

I can't stress this enough. Way too much body roll on LC springs and T bars with LX sway bars. If I remember correctly, I replaced both my front sway bar and rear sway bar with LC. Much less body roll going around corners.

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Back in 2015, at 193k, I had the brake booster motor rebuilt and I rebuilt the master cylinder. Eight years later, at 248k, dying seagull screech occasionally now from master cylinder. Replaced with new complete master cylinder unit 47050-60041 and flushed with Toyota brake fluid. Will take to...

Well I guess its a project now

Just a suggestion. Keep your OEM axles and order a CV axle rebuild kit. My son lives in Oahu and has a Tacoma. We bought the rebuild kit and had Starkey's Auto Repair in Honolulu rebuild them. They looked at him like he was crazy (most shops replace, not rebuild) but they did it and charged a...

    LC100/LX470 Part-Time Conversion Discussion

I had the part time kit on the shelf for quite a while. Finally put it in. I am pretty picky about how it drives and tracks down the highway. Wow. Lightened up the steering feel a lot which is very welcome. Tracks on the freeway very nice (about 3.5 caster) and coasts when you let off the gas...

100-Series Windshield Expert in SoCal? (Another Wind-Noise Sufferer)

To answer the questions: I made an appointment about 3 weeks prior because I wanted a certain day. The install took 3 1/2 hrs. Probably an extra 40 min due to someone putting threadlocker on the rear view mirror screw. Other than that, no rust to treat. That would have surprised me since this...

100-Series Windshield Expert in SoCal? (Another Wind-Noise Sufferer)

I purchased OEM window and all new gaskets and rivets from dealer unfortunately (lots of $). But, if you are going to do it, do it right. Window was pitted from sandstorm, insurance won't replace for that. Not to mention the fight over the OEM parts on a 23 y/o car. Alfredo's labor was very...

100-Series Windshield Expert in SoCal? (Another Wind-Noise Sufferer)

Another feather in the cap for Alfredo at Alfredos Auto Glass in Temescal Valley, CA. He replaced my front window last week. I did not go through insurance, I brought in all OEM parts. He was amazing, encouraging me to come back and watch his work anytime. He called me back to show me several...

    lower steering shaft question

I apologize for not following up after I installed the lower steering shaft a couple years ago. 1. You can replace it without removing/loosening the rack. 2. The rubber booted area if I remember correctly, does not extend and retract. It is a crumple zone. I did destroy it however, by thinking...

    Steel wheels?

For what it's worth, our fleet maintenance guys at a large county tell me they prefer to have aluminum wheels on their heavy trucks. They say the aluminum flexes and absorbs bumps in the road more than steel. Less pounding/vibration on the truck/driver. Lighter weight usually too. Would it make...

Source for rebuilt booster pump on master cylinder

Well, almost seven years and 48,000 miles later, the master cylinder and ABS are working fine. A recent trip from Socal to Utah went well. I am fortunate that lately I have been averaging only 3,000 miles per year on that particular vehicle. Gas is pricey. Still garaged every night. If it goes...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

I used a hole saw and made a hole just a hair bigger than the bearing cap. Then I sprayed the bearing cap with aluminum/silver paint to match the snap on cover. Blends in well.

    Firestone Airbag Fix Suggestions

I used a step bit and opened it up to 3/4 or 1". I did not want it to be rubbing against the threaded part for the bump stop. It's been a few years, no problems. City cruiser.
