craigslist Not mine. But wanted opinions.

Also considering the front end damage plus the rust, definitely high. Rust is always way worse than it looks on the surface.

    Purchase advice

If you don't absolutely have to have a radio den, the Cruisercrap console is really well made and fits perfectly at 8 3/8" wide. Also, it has some sweet design features that the other consoles don't have. Such as front panel pre cut for switches and a lower drawer. My shifters are set back from...

Let's talk about V8 swaps with a manual

Sorry if I missed it but what adapter are you running? Marks Adapter? I have a 5.7 Vortec and 4l60E and am always tempted to go manual. That being said, I think the very best way to go is to retain as much original drive line as possible. so a motor/trans combo of factory design is a priority...

    The 300K Freshen Up

Yeah, modern seats may be inevitable at some point - and no doubt they are the best bang for the buck in terms of increasing comfort. But if keeping the original look is a priority what mweb has done is sweet. I ran Subie seats from a wrx for a bit and switched back just cause every time I...

craigslist 83 FJ60 KY (not mine)

Has some rust, and is a respray so worth checking carefully for more rust that may have just been covered up. Seems in decent condition otherwise, would like to see interior pics but I do t think he's way out of line on price if it's all in pretty good shape. Would be interested in who did the...

    The 300K Freshen Up

That's great to hear. When I redid mine I just overlaid new foam, reinforced with felt, over the degraded spots. I think new seat foam will be the next step.

    The 300K Freshen Up

Seats are killer! Love to see options to improve/update the interior of these rigs without deviating too far from the stock look.

    Camping on the cheap

That's sweet! just a hitch pin? Did it create any unwanted effects like rattles or slop in the seat?

    To snorkel or not.

    This ^^

    To snorkel or not.

Agreed, there is an operating space where a snorkel (or perhaps more specifically the pre-filter) is a benefit. Toyota offers their bird's nest snorkel for the same reasons that Oshkosh and the others put big pre-filter "snorkels" on military vehicles. Disagree. No technical reason to run a...
