I'm in the same boat. I just bought a 2000 LX470 with 155k.
From what I've read, at our mileage it is less likely. It seems to happen much earlier(less than 100k), because of a part that is out of tolerance.

Not to be a dick, but new replacement solenoids can be had for about $20 each. 88 mini truck solenoids work perfectly....

I have 33's and am definitely going to get 4.88s sooner rather than later. I'm also going with 35's eventually as well.
I live in Utah so the hills and inclines definitely bog me down. However, if I were somewhere flat, I wouldn't do a thing.
I've had an OME setup on my 62 for the past year and love it so far. It's done great in Moab, and around town as well.

I used an oem gasket along with Toyota's FIPG. Beno suggests it, so you know that 100% of the time, it will work every time.

Yeah, I bought a few attachments at autozone. Worked fine to get some surface rust off. They had plenty of different options. Wire wheels, grinding discs, etc
