Hey everyone. I'm just curious if i was to use my stock toyota main leaf ( the one tthe bolts go thru for hangers/shackles) and mixed in some 2wd f150 springs how well do u think it would work for adding lift and flex?
Alright everyone. I've been searching a lot trying to figure out what tire size i should run. I've got a 1988 toyota pickup with the 22re. i installed a trail gear 3 inch sas kit. I've been measuring with a tape measure to try and figure out what tirre size would fit. preferebly without...
Got thee sas done about 2 weeks ago. went with the 3 inch trail gear sas kit up front with marlin crawler bearings in the axle. also went with 529 gearing. now I'm going to be putting f150 springs in the rear to get get rid of the lift blocks. my question is how do i stall the springs so i can...
Alright everyone, I've made a little progress with the sas. The ifs is still intact but I got the 5.29s installed into the third members, also got the axle cleaned and painted. Got the knuckles all cleaned up and installed onto the axle with new bearings and seals, got the rotors put together...
Did u check the throttle body on the efi to make sure the butterfly trap is closing enough. U could take off the big air hose from the throttle body, (I think u said it was toyota efi??), andthere will be a hole on the bottom of the throttle body, clean it off real good and put asome duct tape...
Wish I had a plasma cutter, would be pretty nice to have. But I only have a 1 car garage so space is an issue lol. Anyways, a friend of mine from work is gonna use his torch this week sometime to cut the holes for the shackle tubes. He's been a mill wright for a long time, so he should do a...
A plasma cutter would be awesome, but, I've already spent a bunch of money lol. But its definately on my list of tools to get. Back to the sas. I got the front hanger welded on yesterday, because I don't have the skills to do it myself. The ifs is still intact. I just needed to keep it driveable...
Yeah I know its going to take longer with a sawzall then a torch. But I looked for a torch, and the only places around here that will rent one out want an outrageous amount of money. And none of my friends have one, so sawzall it is. I've read around and a few people said it did take a while...
Alright, got my sas kit and everything I need. Still waiting on rear shocks. But that's it. I took my diffs in to get re geared, and it turns out the carrier for the diff was cracked :frown:. Oh well I'm gonna pull the diff out that's on my pickup right now and use that one. since my pickup...
Guy, do you think you could fit 36s on your runner without trimming? Because I want the super swamper tsl but there aren't any 35s. Goes from 34 to 36. And also, I read your build up, but I don't recall you saying how far back you moved your hanger. 1/4 inch with the frame tubes all the way...
To be honest with you, most toyotas, especially 1st and 2nd gen, usually sell for as much as someone will pay for them. Around where I live, 1st and 2nd gens, with minimal rust and under 250k, go for upwards of 2 grand. But sometimes you will find someone selling a toyota for a steel of a deal...
what I was asking is do the usa standard gears come in a yukon box? Because I baught the install kit and it came in a usa standard box. But when I ordered the r&p it came in yukon packaging. Don't matter to me, I've heard yukon is top notch. I was just curious because I read somewhere that usa...
