I wondered about that and one of the biggest upsides of a 12valve is their simplicity. I figured I would be going the wrong direction from what I am looking for getting something like that vs. just changing out the fuel plate and leaving it alone.
I am looking into doing this when I do my motor sway (6BT) but I have grand plans to try and replace the vaccum pump with an air compressor like the medium duty trucks and busses had. Any idea if there is enough room?
Do you have a rough time table when that will be and/or price? I am debating on talking my brother-in-law into trying to make time with his busy schedule to machine them up for me if it isn't going to be available until next year.
The biggest reason I was looking into the hydroboost was because I wanted to swap out the vacuum pump for an air compressor to have onboard air. That is if I have enough room for one...
Hi jvoight, I'm just up I-5 from you. Getting ready to start my swap soon and was curious if you ever did that write-up on you hydroboost swap? I am trying to do research to figure out what donor hydroboost is going to be the closest to stock/simplest since there are several different Chevy...
What hydrobooster did you use and how much did you have to modify it? I'm looking at hydroboostin my 95 and I am trying to figure out what hydrobooster is going to be the simolest (closest to stock dimensions) to use.
1. I read through your thread Wheelingnoob and I was just curious about your wiring harness...I'm in the process of collecting parts for my build currently and am looking into just converting the wiring harness myself instead of sending it to DA, I want to buy as few parts from them as possible...
So a little history about my LC. Before I bought it, it was featured in 4wheeler magazine when it blew up its motor and a bunch of Jeep guys tried to go save it in the snow...my goal is that when I am done with roles will be reversed.
So I am starting out with an 1995 FZJ80, that supposedly lost an timing chain and ruined the motor, that I got for $1000 and a 1994 Dodge 2500 6BT, NV4500, 4x4, that has a bad rear main seal leak and a bad throw out bearing, that I got for $2,000. The plan is to make an tough, reliable, family...
My build is just starting and I will update a build thread as it progresses...
1. Starting rig: 1995 FZJ80.
2. Drive train plans: 1994 6BT, P-pump, NV4500 with Duiser adapter to HF2AV.
3. What went really well with the swap? Starting price LC $1000 & driving donor pickup $2000.
4. What was...
I'm just starting the exact same build. I am just curious if you have/have thought about and exhaust brake? Mine is starting out as the ultimate mommy-mobile (it will be my wife's DD)/family right. Being such I will use it for everything and plan on taking advantage of towing capabilities. I...
