Hey folks, I too am victim to the old valley plate leak. I’m planning on doing this job myself. I was wondering what new gaskets I need. I know the valley plate itself uses a particular sealant, but what about intake manifold gaskets, and whatever other gaskets I may need? I’d like to order...
We used to daily drive our 100, then we got a 200 and daily drive that. The 100 is being built... for fun. Currently is triple locked, Ironman lift and full set of slee skids, Arb bumper and warn winch, currently saving up for sliders and rear bumper.
Both land cruisers have over 200k on them...
There is a recent video on Instagram of a gx470 crawling up hells gate when apparently the truck stalls and the driver looses brakes and smashes into the truck behind it. There are way too many comments and theories as to why the truck lost brakes, but thought you guys would find it...
Please call Mishimoto and ask them to start building radiators for 200s. We spend thousands of dollars upgrading and “bulletproofing” our trucks. Why keep replacing it with with the exact same part that you know is going to fail, again. The more people that call, the more incentive they will...
I guess the issue isnt necessarily the cost or even effort that it takes to replace. It’s not knowing when it’s going to fail. It’s not a wear item, we all go through all the effort to bulletproof our vehicles, but at the end of the day we don’t know when that thing is going pop.
All that said...
So, I too was victim to the old radiator bull****. Toyota is putting a new one in as we speak. I really wanted to put something different in, but unfortunately there isn't really anything out there. (Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.) I also own...
Damn, I bought my 1 owner, 140k, mint (and I do mean mint, I looked for 4 months) 200 for 24k.
It does shine nicely though.
BTW. I love boring detail, when it comes to buying a car, I want to know what exactly has been done, and what you've done.
Interesting. I have a land cruiser with a lx 470 windshield. That said, paint has started to bubble around the top of the windshield. I want it removed so that it can be repaired. Is it possible to remove the glass without breaking it, repair the window frame, then put it back in?
Here it is! Flew up to Chicago Saturday morning and drove back. I was even on time for my sons soccer game.
The dealership was a pleasure to work with. Put it up on a lift to inspect everything. No cam leak. Block and undercarriage was dry as a bone. I'm pretty sure the drivers seat was the...
So as of Saturday, I have both a 100 and a 200. The power in the 200 is amazing... smooth, refined, cruise at 80-90mph all day long with no drama . If you use the third row seats like we do, the 200 is way better, no Velcro strap nonsense.
I like the 100 as it feels more agile and I guess...
No it's up in Chicago, but the car came from Missouri. It was just traded at this dealership, all they do is trade in cars, and only keep them if they are really clean. The salesman just sent me a couple of videos and it looks great!
I'll definitely post a couple of pictures. Once I get home tonight I'll sign a bill of sale and send it to them. I already told then that I can wire the money as soon as they tell me where I need to send it.
I actually bought it from a land rover dealership that traded it in for a new Range...
