Whats in the left hand kick panel on my beastie is the control box for the 4 wheel drive and mounted next to this but facing towards the bulkhead is the control for the power steering.
Now if you want to permanently engage the front locker just take a pair of household pliers and...
Ah well you see if you have one of these trucks for the wrong side of the road then maybe what you are looking for is in the left hand kick panel, but if you have one that is set up for driving on the correct side of the road it is in the right kick panel.

I am just about to take another look at another black box attached to that panel that is facing into the bulkhead to see what damage i can do to that.
Looking at the Pin 7 Mod.
Slee and all the others I have read advise to remove the contact from the ECU plug.
Is this just to do "A Proper Job" or is it required to make the Mod work.
I located Pin 7 and the black wire with the blue tracer and thought to hell with it I will cut it instead.

Finally attacked the beastie today.
Took off all the conectors and inspected them, didn't seem too bad so gave them a spray and lo and behold I hear the ECU starting to click when engaging the rear locker.It still did not want to engage the Diff...

you could try checking that the ecu in the left hand kick panel is actually plugged in.
according to my wiring diagram the lockers all share the same 30amp fuse, i have been wrong before as my wife likes to point out, so if you are getting the centre to lock then the fuse is good.

I don't hear any clicks whirrs or bangs....when engaging the rear lockers. Unlike the others which, with the engine off, I can hear merrily doing their stuff. This is why I suspect the diff is not getting the instruction to engage. My next job after fitting new door locks to the wifes...

Not to sound churlish but I have tried a lot of different tricks to try and engage them, as I said the lockers that are working are making the right ???? noises just before they engage, the rear does not make any noise at all. I have driven it round the dirt roads...
