I lifted my GX via Old Man Emu Struts + Springs only and everything was fine. A few months later I installed some aftermarket UCA's and had rubbing at half turn that I could never get rid of without adjusting the alignment way out of whack. That lasted about a few months before I bought new OEM...
Stock Lexus wheels at the moment. I was wondering if I could move the wheel forward/back - so I'll have to fiddle around with those cam bolts. I'm glad I bought new ones since the originals were so incredibly rusty.
Body mount chop - I need to saw off part of the body mount there that's in the...
I feel like I haven't done anything out of the ordinary here. I put in an Old Man Emu 2" life (Shock + Coils) several months ago, installed some 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, and then did some fender trimming. I was able to get my full crank to crank turning radius.
Over the weekend I put in...
I'm just down the canyon from you in Orem, and picked up a little 3100# dry camper a few weeks back. Took it out for a quick weekend and now it's winterized on the side of my house. I am going to Goblin Vally in Feb and Hwy 6 makes me nervous but your post just gave me some confidence that I'll...
I have that leak. It drives me nuts when I have the windows down. I also have a 2008 that I picked up a year ago. It's such a great car, you're gonna love it! I also recently (finally) took of my running boards and bought the Blue Dog Designworks Molding and they look great. I've got an OME 2.5"...
If you want a simple inexpensive lift you're better off going with a spacer lift that just goes above the stock strut and will give you 1.5-2" of lift. I don't think just adding the OME springs alone is going to do anything for you with the stock struts.
That said - ditch the ride control. It's...
Hey! Just wrapping up the JT Outfitters 4 wheel conversion on my 1972, I was a little intimidated at first, but it wasn't too bad. I did all 4, I don't want to deal with drums ever again.
Ah, two more bolts?! I did not know there were more bolts to be removed. That would explain why it wouldn't budget when I was trying to smack it off. Thank you AZMoonshadow
Hey all - I'm working on installing a Disc Brake conversion on my 1972 FJ40 and am trying to take off all the old Drum stuff, but I seem to be stuck with the backing plate and the spindle. Do they separate from each other? They seem pretty stuck together but I think I need just the spindle for...
Trying to bring an old rig back to life - the manual fuel pump is dead, but I have a little electric that I will use. Can you help me figure out which hose I need to put this into? I crawled under and it seems like A is hooked up to the metal hose that runs up to the engine block, but I want to...
Hey guys. Rebuilding my Aisin Carb from my 1972 F and I have this extra block attached to the bottom - is it factory? I don't have any new gaskets for it from the kit I bought from Kurt, and it's preventing me from getting to the bottom screw to separate the upper bowl. I can scrape the gasket...
Oh! The big thick ring thing. Yes that's installed when I put the rotor back on.
Yes. My tech terms are awesome!
So for wires, I'm good? That link shows an extra green wire on the base area - I don't have any way of doing that on mine. That's my concern.

That magnetic ring - I have wondered that. But, the original location of it is now covered up by the Pertronix bracket.
What does that magnetic ring actually do?

Hey guys. Getting rid of the points on my 72 1F and replacing with a Pertronix. The instructions that came with were lousy, and I think I have it installed correctly, but I'm not 100% sure.
If you've done a swap, do you mind posting a photo? Or at least look at mine and let know if I'm missing...
