For what your trying to do, just find an internal thread deburring tool like a Noga or similar. Much cheaper than a tap, and it'll save your life multiple times. Disclaimer: I'm assuming the threads in your head are basically fine but need a bit of cleanup. If threads are trashed you'll need...
To quote Jim C...
Discard the VR.
In the 3 pin plug at the VR, connect together the BY (Ign+) and WG(field) wires.
Connect the WG wire to the IGN spade on the back of the SS alternator.
Now when the key is switched on, +12V ign power will go from the BY to the WG wire to the IGN terminal on...
Not trying to derail Shipmag and his group buys, but if someone needs an immediate solution (as in my case), this is a quick and easy approach. Add a length of hose and two hose clamps and you're done...
I don't have any experience with the BTB master, but it appears identical to boosters that a lot of the hot rod shops are selling to that crowd, and is most likely based on a GM booster. Check out some of the online hot rod shops like Speedway, etc and you'll see a lot of very similar units...
If you're concerned about being disqualified at Pebble Beach, then M-F gray isn't the best color option. But for the rest of us, while it may not be exactly OEM, it looks pretty darn handsome against most OEM body colors.
I ordered from Village Toyota and they did confirm via email that the fender was indeed available. I'd contact them for a shipping quote based on your location. The fender was $242.
This LH fender situation has really killed my buzz. I had put off any fender purchases while I tackled more mechanically important items. However I never would have expected the LH fender to be NLA. Lesson learned. I ordered a RH fender yesterday from Toyota to prevent further disaster. But...
I'm pretty certain that it's just a generic picture. Rockauto seems to do the same on their site but the right part always arrives.
Disclaimer: I have not ordered a fuel pump from NAPA. I have, however, recently ordered a water pump from them and what arrived was marked "made in Japan" and...
If you are near a NAPA you can find a replacment fuel pump:

Nevertheless, at some point in the not too distant future we'll all be forced to use electric fuel pumps.
My money would be on some missed EGR bolts. Check the service diagrams or look at the schematics on SOR and make sure all the bolts have been removed. I've found it easier to remove the EGR in its entirety and then remove the manifolds together. All that stuff together is pretty heavy and...
Lots of great pictures of a well equipped 40 on Straight Six Straight South. The combo of Foxwing and Autohome looks dynamite.
I'd like to know what lift/tire size is on their 40.
I'd also like to know the brand of roof rack. Can anybody ID the rack?
