Road Closures Affecting Outdoor Recreation in Wharton State Park, New Jersey

Hmm, hello there, I’m just popping in to say hi, and saw this post. My wife and I visited the Wharton State Forest way back in 98 or 99. We spent the day there bopping around in our old Jeep and having a picnic lunch. We came away from there thinking, how sad the way it was being torn up by...

I too can vouch for the dude & his truck. It was a great trip and Stan’s 80 performed flawlessly.

    80 series driveshaft

Sadly the whine is still there- my instinct told me two years ago it was gear whine in the t-case. I ignored my instinct. Shame shame shame, everybody knows my name. This shaft is claimed!

    80 series driveshaft

Ok guys, it took a while to diagnose the whine, with Brian’s help down at Otraam as he confirmed an earlier suspicion. The splines are worn causing the whirring noise only when torque is applied. That old shaft is on my bench now, still in good working order just noisy, way too noisy for the...

Old Man Emu 3" lift questions

I’m watching this: Mr Mcdugal is spot on. I have 2850j and 2864s ( heavy set) the 64s were recently replaced with the heavier rated 60s. I also use castor correction bushings instead of the plates. The first set of correction bushings failed at 135,000. If you are going to load it down as...

Whats the life expectancy of the 1FZ-FE

Hmmm, old thread that I shall chime in on. At 292,000 had the head off for a look at, and leaky valve stem seals. Now at 357,000. At least once a year we head west for a 10,000 mile round trip. This summer headed to Arctic Ocean, then back down & over to Alaska. All told a two month trip and...

All true. Last year though all were pleasantly surprised at some of the technical sections we went through.

    Expocmcc

We are driving, gonna go to Glacier National Park and hang a hard right turn. Come back down through the PNW. Gonna bring spare coolant and heater lines, spare belts, extra fluids, sparker, coil, a rotor and at least a couple of long ignition wires. Everything else is analy maintained...

Hey guys, . I’ve recieved a couple of messages from families, that want to do the Expo tour of BESF again this year. Sadly, I cannot do the tour this summer. It’s a terrible thing that Stan, his wife Libby myself & my wife Virginia and my brother-in-law John will be heading to the Arctic Ocean...

    Tire prices

With as expensive as tires are I thought I’d pass this along: I just got a set of 4 General Grabber ATX 285/75/16 Es, mounted balanced, new stems & tax for 1089.44 that’s way less than anywhere else around here. PM me if interested- I’d go there with you and introduce you my tire guy.

2023 annual Keystone Breakfast and Meeting

I wish it were that simple- she can’t travel until her annual RFAs in C-3-4-5. Usually happens in January, this year late Feb, I stay close until then. I miss hanging with you guys. I’d love to ride along on one of the upcoming monthly runs.

2023 annual Keystone Breakfast and Meeting

My 80 needs some exercise, being cooped up in the barn all winter, so I’ll be there. Just save some food for me, that’s all I ask, don’t eat it all before I get there!!

    Weird oil consumption problem 1FZ

At around 290,000 miles mine began consuming oil at a rapid rate- a quart every 500 miles. I correctly diagnosed it as valve stem seals. Blt4me has hit the proverbial nail on the head, however, I’ve been using 15w40 for over a decade with great success . 356,000 and still running strong.

New addition to the Stable (Project Magilla)

I can attest to all of this, the truck performed flawlessly and torqued right up multiple ledges, boulders & washouts without complaint, whereas my 4.5 stocker needed more right foot action getting up & over things.
