I also just signed up and my paypal address is wrong (frustrating how it does that) - is that address confirmation email automatically sent to everyone?
For those who have done a swap with a used engine, where did you procure your donor from? Is it easier to buy a complete truck or just buy a takeout from someone who parts these out? I'm looking primarily at using an l92/l94 at this point. If you buy a whole truck, is it difficult to get rid...
Bold choice of camera placement, I like it.
Only thing I will add is that what I thought initially was a bushing related braking clunk on my 80 ended up being driveshaft related. However, if you have not replaced you radius arm bushings, that is a much more likely culprit.
Room for one more? I moved to NC last year but haven't gotten a chance to meet any local LC folks yet. Unfortunately I don't know anything about 40s, but happy to help however
There should be no problem putting it on a U-Haul trailer. I towed my 80 on 35's across the country a few months ago without issue. A truck with 37's would fit fine - you just need to purchase the extended length straps for oversize tires, which U-Haul themselves sell. At no point did tires...
I agree with you, but regardless why would you not run it how he has it now for more clearance? Is there some advantage to having the cats vertical? They hang down more that way.
Awesome! Were they stuck-er than they look in that picture? Looks like they could have just shoveled out. Not doubting you, just curious.
Looks like a good day 👍
M12k motor is not sealed as others have said, unless they have changed the design significantly. I've had mine underwater multiple times and never had any issues with the motor. I've found the old-style solenoids to be the weak link reliability-wise. However, the Albright-style sealed...
I had my front swaybar axle mount snap while wheeling, taking out the short front right brake hardline on the axle in the process, as have a number of other people. If you are articulating the suspension, I think there's a good reason to disconnect at least the front. I haven't heard of anyone...
So I apologize because this doesn't really answer your question, but is there a way you can reduce the length of your cable run? It looks like you have a combined length of about 15'? More length = more voltage drop (which can be combated, at great expense, by increasing wire size as you have...
Thanks guys, I really appreciate all the well wishes. I will miss all of you. It didn't really hit me until I was actually rolling out of the state.
It's different here for sure - plants and water everywhere. I'm going to have to get on the beach soon, so I can say I've made it to both...
Hard to believe it's been 4 years since I created this thread. It has been an awesome few years living out west and wheeling with many of you. I've gotten to do things I could only dream about as a kid. Unfortunately for my wheeling prospects, I've gotten a job on the east coast and am moving...
