    RHD driving in USA

    I drove to the Grande Canyon last summer with a BJ74. Only problems was the 4x4 guys wanting the visit and ask about the truck. Truck ran great, cruises the interstate at 100 Km.

    HDJ81 Radiator Drain Plug

    The coolant drain is in the bottom corner opposite the lower rad hose. You will have to move the skid plate to get to it.

    BJ74 glow plug overide

    It is behind the glove box, the yellow wire. If a normally closed switch / or open iis nstalled the glow will be overriden. Look in FAQ I think instruction's are there.

    Don't have the parts #, But I had mine (24V) rebuilt in Calgary at Amperage Technology, (403-250-2845). They might have the parts on hand.

    Canadian insurance companies no longer RHD friendly?

    I called Wawanesaa, they said it is nothing to do with RHD or safety. Just the cost of replacing parts on a older import (they mentioned Skylines). also ING does not want to insure imports. I went to Peace Hills, full coverage with $250 deductable.

    80s are ridiculously cheap in the US - should I ship my gasser to Yurp?

    I was told by a dealer in Japan he ships the gasers to Engalnd were they are outfitted for propane use. As it is cheaper than gas.

    (Is there no where else to take it to get it looked at earlier?) I spoke ot the shop foreman at Country Hills Toyota, he said there is only three mechanices in Calgary he would recommmned. As a result if you want the work done correctly the first time, it's a month wait.

    Yes dispite the ticking and banging at start up and shut down the motor ran fairly smooth.

    If the tip falls off does it fall into the cylinder ? Fan is tight , have not checked the timing belt yet. Still have a month before I can get shop time.

    It could also be described as a loud knocking at start up and shut down. Similer to dieseling in a gasser. I will leave it parked until I can get it to a shop. I have not dealt with Folk before any suggestions. Thanks

    No I don't have a roof rack. The adujuster knobs turn and the dial moves. Does it have a fuse ?

    I have a JDM, 1992 HDJ-81, the overhead compass does not apper to work ,aways shows the arrow at west. . Any ideas on how to reset it? As well as the alitmiter. It appears to have power as the light works. :confused: Thanks John
