So I recently installed a 1993 pickup MC on my FJ40. For some reason, the rear seams to be locking up too fast since the swap. Since both the fj40 OEM MC and the 1993 were drum (please correct me if I am wrong), it should act similar to my OEM MC?
BTW I swapped to disks on the front and had...
My 1974 OEM booster failed a few years ago and have not had time to deal with it. I started rebuilding the 74 booster that had brake fluid leak into it. I tore it down, repainted, and reassembled it, but was unable to get some of the external gaskets to finish the job.
Finally getting back to...
I have a 74 FJ40. I have disks in front, and drums in rear. I just ordered a new booster to replace the OEM that I rebuilt, but was missing one seal that I could not find, so decided to upgrade to the later dual diaphragm booster.
I have a 93 toyota pickup Master cylinder and was wondering if...
I found a booster from a 1993 mini truck and thought it would bolt up to my 1974 fj40. It is hitting the parking brake cable and housing? Do I need to do any modifications to install this booster?
Thanks.
I recently rebuilt my booster of my 1974 FJ40. I am missing the rear seal where the push rod goes through. Would anyone happen to have the PN of an alternative gasket since original is no longer available? pretty sure this is a part that can fit many other vehicles.
The push rod is 12mm, so ID...

So I have a 74 LC with front disks. Have all the parts to do rear disks (from poser). I just bought a 74 MC since i was hoping to keep as original as possible. But then found out that my booster was full of brake fluid and has been sitting like that for about a year. I took it apart to clean it...
Anyone have a good, spare brake booster that would fit my 74 LC? I was about to install my new MC when i found out that the booster was full of brake fluid and has been sitting like that since last year.
Anyone been in touch with Burl? Been trying to get in touch with him for a while now to resolve damage done to my pickup. I must have an old phone number since left multiple messages and no answer. No answer on MUD either. If anyone could PM me his info or help me get in touch with him, I would...
Looking to finally do the conversion to disk on rear of my 74 40. My MC is dead so looking to replace with 80 series Non ABS MC. I believe no proportioning valve is required.
I had gotten the steel many years ago and was planning on fabricating brackets myself. After reading around, found...
My rear brake master cylinder reservoir is empty and leaking down firewall.
Is there a good aftermarket MC available. Or is there a good place to have the rebuild with stainless sleeves? Any good upgrades to do at this stage?
I have disks/knuckles from 4runner on front and still have drum...
You may have already seen this one, but thought it was pretty cool. How to get out of sand with a little patience. Jeff, was thinking of you after our last conversation about people getting out of sand at the last meeting...
Hey all, my friend in PA (also in TLC but does not MUD) just picked up a 1994 80 series LC. He is looking for either a parts truck with good engine, or an engine. Anyone know of anything? He is up in Harrisonville, PA, but often comes down to DC. So anything not too far from those areas would be...
I have an 87 mini truck that has a rotted out frame. The rear passenger spring hanger ripped off the frame at an event two years back. I am looking at options, either reinforce the frame, or cutting off behind cab and splicing another frame. Has anyone grafted another vehicle frame to the rear...
