Hi Mike and thanks for the welcome. We're going to be doing a good bit of hiking and with no other rigs along, I hesitate to do anything more than about a 3. I'd love to do Poison Spider again, but not without a group. Thought about Top of the World as we've not done that before and it looks...
...and also!
I just saw that theres a trip to Moab in Oct. This would be a great chance to pre-run anything you wanted to out there and be all practiced up for the oct Chris
Hey all,
We're going to head out to Moab for a few trail runs and some great family hiking. We'll be heading out on Friday 12th this month and camping for 10 days!!! Woo Hoo! If anyone is going to be out there that time frame and would like to join us we'd love to have some more cruisers...
96 lx450. PO babied the hell out of this thing at the lexus dealer. EGR is trying to burn out the CEL (i hope it goes out soon...lol), burns a little oil (top end job coming soon) but thats it. Im working on 30k worth of the 170k total.
So new aspect to the problem that may make sence. On cold morning when the vehicle is first started, the power steering pump is complaining. I can hear it straining and feel the differance in the wheel. Once the engine compartment gets toasty the sound and feel go away. Power steering pump?
Ok, so Im suffering from some level of loose steering components somewhere or I've been driving IFS too long. I've had my rig for a little over a year now and it's always acted like this, but I thought I'd bring it up. My wife's Tundra has very very precise steering, i.e. NO play in steering...
We're going to be in Moab in mass from the 6th to the 10th. It's not a LC thing except for mine, but we'll have quite a few off roaders with us. We'll be camped a ways south of Moab near indian creek falls. The group we'll be with is one of the most friendly open bunches of people you'll ever...
Hey all,
We're planning a trip out to Moab in October and are in the process of putting together a trail list. We've got a couple newbie’s with us that want to go "off roading" so we want to break them in easy. I tried to convince them poison spider mesa was a good start, but the wife said...
Hey all,
So I'm 75% of the way finished with my new cargo area box. I think I've waxed poetic about this before, but i wanted a box that would replace only one of the 3rd row jump seats as I need the 5th passenger pretty often and wanted to keep one of the jumps in. The project is progressing...
There’s a two fold benefit too the SS lines. Now as to whether either of them make a difference or not I dont know, but they seem legitimate.
Stainless lines being silver and reflective dont pick up as much radiant heat from the engine compartment. This leads to longer brake fluid life and...
dvd help
Ok, finished the video, but being somewhat new to the field of video editing, how do i get the video off the dvd we burned and onto some type of video hosting site?
Well, we made it back from our spring Moab run. Had a great time!!! This was my first serious outting in the LX and what can I say. This truck was built for this kind of stuff. My wife and I met a friend of mine who regularly does the 4+ and 5 stuff in this "Frankinbronco" (97 bronco, 38...
Thanks
Thanks guys, only problem is that none on the picts are good on that link. Must be old... i think i can work something out just by what was talked about.
Where does everyone mount their fire extinguisher's. I've got mine in the driver side back seat door area. Really easy to get at, but it gets stomped all the time by kids, dogs getting in and out of the back. Any suggestions?
Chris
So just got back from Moab. Did Lockhart basin and poison spider. Great trip. Two things I tried to delicately remove with large rocks: My tow hitch and my spare. I was a little surprised that i never touched my rear bumper, but I did kiss off a couple times with the corners of my tow hitch...
Thanks to all!
Just got back from Moab. Lockhart was a huge success. Great trip and absolutly BEAUTIFUL trail! Some of the best view I've seen in Moab. We ended up doing poison spider mesa too. That trail is a workout! I'm trying to find a good website to host pictures, then i'll link...
Done and Done. Go check out thread 1 from above, my list is there now. If anyone wants the excel spreadsheet let me know. The format is a little better.

Truck Gear List
The general philosophy of the well stocked truck is three fold. One, the truck should hold most of the everyday quick convenience things that you might need most anytime. Second, getting stranded. If the truck...
