    Noise When going over Bumps

I've had the Koni shocks. With these shocks you can't use the OEM washers - you can only have the top and the bottom Koni washer but nothing in the middle. Now I've changed the rear shocks (I have the KYB now - it's cheap, but I can replace them for this price more often ;) ) and now I again...

    Noise When going over Bumps

I also got the "clunk" sound. The bushes on sway bars are a bit worn (after 270k km including quite some bad roads). But it proved, that the real issue is the upper mount of the rear shocks. I can even move the shocks with my bare hand so I suspect that not only the rubber "washers" on the top...

    What skinny tires look like

I guess these tires will perform well in the mud, but bad in swamp and sand if the car is loaded. 6.5" wheels would be better, as you might have problems when driving with tires aired down. I also wanted this tire size, but I've chosen 265/75R16 for better performance with loaded car. In my...

    265/75/16s- comments, pics please

Depends on, what are you looking for. Larger tires mean worse performance with a loaded car. I have MT/R 265/75R16 on 6.5" steel rims. I have this tire size, to be able to buy a new spare anywhere in Africa and middle east. Narrow rims also make it possible to drive with virtually empty tires...

Diff noise 105 GX 4.5 EFI

One "klak" per wheel turn usually means ring and pinion damage. This is what happened to my buddy in Tunisia. We had to remove rear pinion and propeller shaft. We did it in the sand and it took us a day long. He had to use only front wheel drive to get to the solid ground. Lesson learned: use a...

    Blacked-out bumpers (more de-blinging)

Here are the side shots: Just kidding ;) I think, with black bumpers it more looks like a real offroader. Actually I've painted them black as the color didn't make it ;) Regards Samo

    Blacked-out bumpers (more de-blinging)

I have sandblasted my bumpers and have painted it with elastic black paint. I've also removed the fog lights and inserted homemade blanks instead: Regards Samo

Winch question (with a stock bumper???)

Only M8000 or winches of equal size will fit. I use a Chinese copy of M8000 with a stronger motor and slower transmission, which is supposed to be a 12000 lbs winch. As I don't really trust this specs I carry a snatch block with me ;) Regards Samo

Winch question (with a stock bumper???)

This is how my winch is mounted: behind the bumper using Taubenreuther's kit. I use hawse instead of rollers so the hook is the only "visible" thing. Here is the link to some images from our last trip to Iceland: To je zakon.com - Islandija2008 There are no images of our deepest water...

I have two LH torsion bars!

So far I've received no answer from ARB Australia. I've contacted them using the web contact form. Anyone knows a person in ARB that could answer me a question? The question is: can a brand new LH torsion bar be used on a right side of a vehicle? Regards Samo

I have two LH torsion bars!

Thanx for the info guys. I guess I'll send a question to OME (or ARB?). I will let you know, what they say. These torsion bars are new. If they are not twisted in the factory, then there should be no problem, but if they are... Regards Samo

I have two LH torsion bars!

Hi! After installing a winch I had to upgrade the torsion bars. I've received two OME LH torsion bars in the package (the instructions in the FAQ say there should be a LH and a RH bar). As I don't have time for reordering as my summer trip is coming up, I've installed two LH bars. Should I be...

    DIY Diff Drop Kit

That's not me. That's the driver of the other vehicle. He was just leaning on the car ;) We have pulled the car backwards, but forgot to fill the tires first, so I lost the air from the rear right tire. It was messy then. It would be a lot easier to go forward using a winch. Regards Samo

    DIY Diff Drop Kit

I have a rear e-locker and OME 865 springs + airlift on the rear (works great together) + Koni shocks. On the first picture: the air temperature was 40 degrees C an the mud was dry on the top and crossing really didn't look too difficult. A really loaded car, and Revos at a high pressure also...

    DIY Diff Drop Kit

Mine is HDJ100 ;). And I don't plan to argue. A LC100 is in my opinion the best CAR and not the best OFFROADER. If I go on a distant trip, I have to do a lot of paved street miles, I need to carry food, water & everything else for 4 persons. And a LC100 is so much better in these two categories...

    DIY Diff Drop Kit

Thanx for the answers. And yes: I meant the shipping would be too expensive, as it really is easy in a DIY version. Sorry for the late reply. I really don't work on a 100 right now, as I don't have any plans for traveling with it before summer. I plan to install a winch behind the stock bumper...

    DIY Diff Drop Kit

I know that a plan for a diff drop kit was posted on the forum, but I can't find it. I don't think that you guys from the US would want to make it by yourself, but I'm from Europe and the postage would be expensive. So: anyone remembers where the plans were posted? Thanx Samo

    Michelin XZL vs. BFG BAJA

Funny: it's easy to get Bfg 255/85R16 in Europe (if I order them, I'll get them in less than a week), but impossible to get any of the rally Bfg tires. Some time ago you said that Siam are the best tires for sand. Why don't you like them any more? Too many punctures? If you are looking for a...

    Michelin XZL vs. BFG BAJA

I was looking for these tires, but couldn't get them in Europe. The Rock version is mostly used on Dakar (also on a LC100 - yes, in this size). This is the most durable tire ever made, but don't expect to get many miles out of them when used on paved roads. As this tires are quite narrow (and...

    Loosing steering fluid

I've cleaned it yesterday and today I've driven it for 20km. Only a few drops of steering fluid came out and I thing my first diagnosis was right: at the top under the intermediate shaft. To see more I would have to remove the intermediate shaft. I guess it doesn't leak enough that I would see...
