I have the same issue, will be watching how it goes.
Mind you the 2 temperature system I have, works well. I close the valve manually in summer and set it wide open the rest of the time, has been 4yrs
I've gone through a couple cheap tercel alts, currently the one I have on now has a tested peak of 110a (probably at 6k rpm)
For going through muddy water etc the have done well.
Don't forget that these trucks have 2 batteries in parallel (in all but start phase) so the amount of reserve amps...
I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's a clutch type, I did the research 4 or so yrs ago and thats the answer that's ringing in my brain...now that i'm thinking about it 350k kms and 27 yrs later i'm betting the clutches probably aren't grabbing like they should anymore..
Kind of an older thread but figured i'd chime in. I have a 1990 jdm 80, and it has rear LSD which I assume is factory. So far it has been good, haven't had an instance yet where I thought, damn i wish I had a locker...mind you I have no idea how worn it is
As far as getting longer links, I have heard that the links on some cargo vans will work, the problem is wandering through auto-wreckers to find them and in good shape...
Go to the ironman4x4 website, not metaltech. When you order from ironman usa it is shipped from metaltech, not sure what the arrangement is if they are distributors or a franchisee. Either way not the point of the thread
After getting new oem links the brackets went on my truck, sure they work, look well made etc. Still haven't heard back from ironman/metaltech, and see that they haven't changed their website description/photo for the misleading product
Judging by the email response I received from them I was sent the only part that they make for my truck (rear sway bar related)
Sure the product looks well made, and it will work. Its the "meh, who cares" vibe I got that has turned me off.
The usa distributors seemed great but I think thats...
I'm running 35x12 15R on my truck. The lift is 3" which I think is TJM, it was installed in Japan before it came to Canada.
I had been looking at the Ironman lifts for a while as well, seemed like a good price, but maybe those are just generic pictures and instead of springs and shocks you'll...
Not sure how many have had experience with Ironman products, my first try with them hasn't quite worked out.
The rear sway bar links on my 80 series met their end, I figured since I have a lift I should go with extended links.
off to the interweeb....
I came across the ironman4x4 extended...
howdy
i found some manuals on mud and offroad80s.com
as far as an owners manual i haven't come across one, but type a question into the thread searches and there is a ton of info here, check both the 80 section and the diesel section
i had a similar sound, it seemed to be a turn signal relay, wiggling my indicator stalk it would go away. i sprayed contact cleaner into the steering column at the turn switch and it has cleared up....for now!
