Hi Tim,
I feel it only in a hard acceleration through third gear. No other time. RPM is between 2000 and 2500.
It kinda feels like fuel starvation, but I can wind it out past 3500 so I don't think that's a problem.
I've driven my 12H-T transplant for several years now. During that time, it has always had a strange hesitation when accelerating through 3rd gear. It's only at one narrow point and only in 3rd gear. I thought for a long time that it was due to my undersized fuel lines causing fuel starvation...
My tailgate carpet panel was trashed by a chemical leak. I replaced it with a rigid plastic panel and PVC "diamond plate". The new panel is trimmed with a self adhesive vinyl edge channel.
Looks .
Hi all,
My 12H-T PS pump is gradually losing pressure. A rebuild kit from Oz did nothing to improve it (predictably - it wasn't leaking). Looking at photos of the diesel PS pump and the 3FE PS pump, they seem identical inside and out, with the exception of the pump mounted reservoir on the...
As far as I know, there isn't a convenient way to just attach it to the -62 harness. If your engine came with the glow timer you can figure out how to attach it using the wiring diagrams from the Aussie -60 series Haynes manual or something similar. Otherwise you need to add a 100 amp relay...
Bio has methanol in it. That's why it tends to attack rubbers and synthetics. Ordinary fuel hose, even injection hose won't last.
I prefer to use B99 when I can.
I have more info to add to this thread - having now completed the fuel line replacement.
I made adapters for each end of the air brake tubing to connect to the 6mm ID/8mm OD hose beads at the fuel tank and lift pump. They consist of typical air brake "push-to-connect" fittings connected to...
That's about what I get. Any time, any conditions, 17mpg.
I've been similarly unimpressed - expecting to get the 20+ that some people claim. I've just learned to live with it.:meh:
The important property of this air line is that it is NYLON air line. At about $1 per foot, it beats the hell out Viton and the like at $8 a foot and up. Parker makes a fuel hose that is supposed to be bio compatible, but even that is $2 a foot and hard to find.
The challenge with nylon air...
I picked up some air line. I measure 9.5mm (3/8") ID. How does one go about connecting the air line to the hose bead on the IP and fuel tank?
Thanks again!
I've also seen lower EGT. Less smoke too.
I did notice that when I first bumped my boost to 14PSI (a few years ago) that I had a lot more blow-by. My oil blackens much more quickly. I assume that won't improve, but if it doesn't get worse, I won't complain.
