I know old thread but....
Hypothetically, if I had a complete but rolled donor truck why is this a bad idea. The weight difference is not that much between the Prado and an 80 series.
The 1kzte can be turned up a little.
Has anyone actually done this?
Tell me why it will not work?
Thanks...

I have 2 FJ 60 ignitors for sale Both were working fine when removed from running trucks. I have a 3fe in my 60 now so I don't need them. Coils and mounting bracket included $125 each shipped priority mail.
The dizzys are also FJ 60.
One has a broken advance plate and is missing the drive...
Ok so I went and looked in my Cruiser notebook and I found this Info:
"For those with >78 full electronic ignition with the mag pickup coil, the cheapie spare/replacement NAPA ignitor is a TP50, fits dodge/plymouth/chrysler 72-92. Its like 20-30 buck, and you can get the connector that fits it...
I don't know how to do it, but there is a way to use a Chrysler igniter box similar to this one. "NAPA TP-50" I think that I had saved this info a long time ago from the LCML. Though it is probably gone now
Look up the schematics for both and it should be obvious how to make it work.
This...
Funny, I have a couple of these that I have kept because I know they are expensive to buy. I needed one many years ago in a quicky type situation, I paid 160 shipped for that one.
Trannys are $125 because they hardly ever go bad
What rubber seal? I thought these were pretty much OK unless the...
So funny. My youngest and I just had the same conversation about his 71 Dart and it being hard to start when cold. Choke was only closing about 80% of the way.
I also found on my FJ 60 that if the choke closes 100% I need only 1 pump on the pedal and only when it is below 30F. At zero she...

I do this to all of my autos every 25 K miles. THe Local tranny guru seems to think it is over kill. But thats how Land Cruisers work.
John
Don't know about swapping internals but the output shaft is longer in the later tranny. You could use the later drive shafts and then I think it works. I believe the cross member is even the same. Maybe some different linkage for the transfer case.
