So, I just spent an hour or so reading through this whole post. I was hoping to eventually see a very nice 6BT conversion, along with a bunch of other cool but perhaps unnecessary mods. What a let down. I'm sure it'll be extremely cool when finally finished. I've made my mind up though...
That's interesting, good suggestion. Do you know what type of setup it is, unidirectional accelerometer perhaps? I don't have an FSM for the FJ. Where is the sensor located? There was little to no drag though. It was a very gentle, gradual slide on rain soaked asphalt.
There's a long background story behind here, but the issue at hand is that a friend's street driven, pristine, poser FJ was dragged sideways from it's rear tow hook yesterday. Everyone in the office just assumed the street queen was up to his usual parking jackassery... Now, his traction...
Do you know what part number Magnaflow you have there?
I replaced my exhaust from just behind the first O2 sensor back, and I'm not happy with the sound. I went with one cat, a Magnaflow 94106. It was suggested in this thread:

Prepping the aluminum will really help reduce chips and peeling.
1) Use good degreaser

thanks for your replies.
Very glad to see that the reving is probably normal. I'll be checking the PHH and fuel filter for leaks, so I'll be able to have a really good look at all the vacuum lines.
Anyone know for sure if the ECM compares the two coolant temp sensors? Good info for anyone...
Yesterday, a friend here at the office delivered my Christmas present , a Lev-o-Gauge from the TLCA site:

It's another story, but basically i've been interested in what sort of angles the 80 can take...
So, work was over, went...
Just wanted to give credit where credit was due!
I placed a $1300 order for a lift kit with one of Mr. Slee's competitors on Dec. 1st. It still hasn't shipped. This competitor doesn't communicate, and doesn't seem to care. Just business as usual??
They are missing the front shocks, no idea...
When I was trying to talk myself into buying my 80, I did wonder if you could fit a standard 4'x8' piece of material in the back. I had a real need for utility, it wasn't just something I told the wife... I'm glad I decided against a full-size truck with a proper bed. Since I got the 80 in Sep...
Anyone in need of tires in Charlotte? The Firestone on Central, near Eastland Mall, will beat Tire Rack prices; very uncommon... Just picked up a set of 285/75R16 Firestone Destination M/T for $758 installed, with tax. Their "regular price" was nearly $1,200, so worth the negotiation. No...
