A little test fit in the back of the GX for good measure...
I'm waiting for some more connections to come in and I can get the small drawer finished up to go under the fridge.
So after being busy with work and out of town for a bit, I was able to spend a little more time on the box over the weekend. I got the HDPE panels cut and slid into the channels of the t-slot aluminum. These are a pretty tight fit as long as you cut them large enough that they fully engage the...
Yeah, Hefty does soo much more than what's on his site. I had to call to find that out.
I wasnt trying to be an ass with my first reply, I thought you may not have seen the "al."
Yes sir, in the aluminum flavor, that's what the "al." stands for. lol
@DanKunz I would say that Hefty Fab does AWESOME work, that's why I chose them. I didnt take picking my armor lightly, after all it's to protect my rig. I spent the better part of an afternoon with Chris as he walked me...
NEW UPDATE!!
The GX has been at Hefty Fabworks for a few days now.
They are doing a full armor setup for me, al. front & rear bumpers, al. skids, and sliders!
I'll post pics of the progress when I have them
I would say Goose Gear is using the 10 series. Yes 80/20 has all of the parts you would need for building these. However, I found the TNUTZ site to have better overall prices. One 8' stick is almost $5 cheaper on TNUTZ.
Thank you sir! Part of my goal with this build is to showcase as many Colorado companies as possible and hopefully bring some new products to life. Right now, I have other companies that I'm trying to work with for new or revamped products for the GX.
Stay tuned to see how this turns out. My...

From what I could find on the corner joints, they are pricey, as much as $25 a piece!
I was able to find the 1/4" 4x8 sheet for $55. In using the 1/4" mounted into the t-slot, it will be super strong. If you look at the new style wooden trusses they use for building these days, this will be...
Good question, I'm not 100% sure at the momment. I'm hoping I can mount to the HDPE because that would allow me to make the overall size of the drawer, a bit larger.
I'm not using MDF, I'll be using 1/4 "HDPE. This product fits nicely in the t-slot groove, and will be super strong. I'm using the 1"ish square wich is the 10 series.
I'm using Tnutz as my source. EX-1010 – 1″ x 1″ Smooth T-Slotted Aluminum Extrusion | TNUTZ | TNUTZ
I will use 1/2" MDF as...
Don't mind the question at all. Not sure it you have worked with them before but, t-slots have multiple types of connections: "L" brackets w/ set screws, side plates, and end connections. I'm using end connections and a few "L" brackets w/ set screws.
Next on the list of needs, rear storage. I first started off with a CAD design with most of drawn up and room to add things as needed. I decided to go with 1" t-slot aluminum for the frame and 1/4" HDPE for the insert panels. With the combination of the 2 materials, the size and function can be...
The first order of business was to get the juices flowing, so I teamed up with Off-Grid Engineering to develop a "bolt in" dual battery system. A few weeks worth of work and it's in! For more info check out my full write up here
