I redid a set of rings for a set I had at one point in time. They were plastidipped by the seller and he said they were good underneath and I took him at his word.
One of them had been partially sandblasted so basically I was forced into fixing them. I soaked each with stripper, then hand...
I will have both passenger side and driver side options available and with the upper section being bolt on, it will be easy to add accessories or swap things around if you are running dual swing outs.
Here’s where I am as of now today. The latest version has gone well overall. I think I have identified the last handful of slight tweaks and adjustments to make, but I’m finally starting to really like how everything is looking and fitting together. The last bit of hardware comes in Monday, and...
Not until I get it test fit, but it’s visually nearly identical. I altered some aspects slightly for better fitment and end use + another feature. I also changed a weld seam location on the arm and made some tweaks to the assembly process in order to speed up production and ensure dimensional...
Plans ended up not working out for the cruiser to be dropped off for me to fit up the newest version. That’s happening next week in addition to installation drawings. I’m also working through new logo design and branding for my new LLC as well as an e-commerce website to make ordering much...
I’ve seen payloads all over the place on the internet but haven’t seen it in any Toyota publication yet.
On the web, I’ve seen a few ranges of payloads for the 200 series ranging from ~1600lbs to what autoblog lists as 1,320 lbs for a heritage edition. That seems low, but that’s just based on...
I wonder how many people would be up in arms if we weren’t getting the Toyota badged “Land Cruiser” 250 here in the states and instead we already had a Toyota badged 300 series for 100k? I think lots of people wish we could buy a hilux, but in reality if we got it, I think people would be...
I decided to run another prototype version and tweaked just about every part’s design in one way or another. I’m having a cruiser dropped off next weekend or the following to finish it up!
Thanks! I used this stuff. Because the bumper is a thinner edge, you do see a little of the yellow grabbed when looking from certain angles around the truck but other than that is nice because you can take it off and reinstall no problem. I originally trimmed my bumper lower down and then...
Welded up some some sliders, installed rally armor mud flaps, chopped my front bumper, and have mostly wrapped up designing and building a hidden winch mount with a nod to the Gx550 with the vent design. Just need to pick out a winch order a few more things to make it all work
Assuming the battery pack takes up roughly the same amount of space as this auxiliary tank, I’d be absolutely surprised if someone were getting that area hung up and scraped by rocks on a new 250. Even if that were the case, it would be an easy area to protect. Maybe the 250 has more exhaust...
It’s too bad the rear door opens upward and isn’t engineered to bear the weight of a spare tire. Some sort of factory swingout, barn doors, or tire mount would allow the battery pack to be mounted under the floor in a heavy duty enclosure also lowering the center of gravity.
If aux tanks are...
I got a call saying basically the same. First allocation was awarded. First edition. I’m 10th on the list anyways and want some others to start getting their trucks and giving real world feedback before I do anything.
That’s the stock rectangular bulb housing. I just had it primed for paint in that image and then later painted it black
It’s been about 4 years now since I last had the round headlights on. Went back to the original front end.
I’m watching early model (10-13) GX prices hit price ranges lower than clean gx470s. I got a really good deal on mine in ‘21, but it’s getting harder and harder to want to get out of my 460 for a new 250 as I keep building out my 460.
Maybe it’s been mentioned, but originally seeing the GX550 fuel mileage, I had assumed that was for an overtrail model, so hypothetically the other versions with smaller street tires could do a little better. Which does make the mileage fairly “decent” with 33s and more clearance. On the flip...
Looks to be on some in the pics above if zooming in. Wonder if it’s a diesel vs non diesel thing like the FJ60 vs HJ60, but the UK diesel didn’t have it.
**Or maybe they haven’t told us some stuff and it’s a door for the plug in charger haha**
Parts to convert Lexus GX460s of any year to 2018+ Toyota Land Cruiser Prados so I can finally tell all the 200 series guys my GX is a Land Cruiser lol
