My friend bought a Red Line Cruisers FJ UTE (FJ40 4 door).
It's an Icon type product that takes an FJ80 powertrain and puts a long 4 door FJ40 looking body on it.
Anyway, the finished product has a custom aftermarket dash/display assembly that does not include the original lights (check engine...
i have my FJ62 in Florida, so AC is kind of important :)
Lately I feel that my FJ62's AC is not up to the task.
It seems to work ok when the temp is in the lower 80's and the sky is overcast.
But when the temp is in the 90+ range with the sun shining (dark paint color), the AC is inadequate...
I have an 89 FJ62 with stock wheels and tires. Stock tires meaning he same size that comes with this vehicles.
The recommended tire pressure as listed on the door jamb sticker seems very low, like 26.
Does this make any sense?
The tires look low at this pressure.
Why would Toyota recommend...
I had some strange electrical issue recently where it looks like the ignition stayed on for a week and killed my battery.
After jump starting the vehicle it ran very poorly.
Is it possible I damaged the coil?
What are the symptoms of a damaged ignition coil?
I need s muffler and tail pipe for an fj62 and other exhaust components if available.
I'm in the NY-CT area. As these are expensive to ship, would prefer a pickup but would consider paying for shipping.
My FJ62 started to sound like a Formula 1 car the other day, and its not because I have an F1 engine in there.
I guess the muffler is coming apart and a hole broke through.
Ive never done much exhaust work before and was wondering whats involved.
If I buy a muffler from Autozone or Napa, Im...
I'm not exactly sure that this piece of trim is, maybe rocker trim?
It's a long piiec that runs along the side of the fj62 below the doors. It's about 1-2" thick and it's chrome.
A couple of the fasteners broke and it's sort of hanging off.
Does anyone know where to get these plastic or nylon...
Instead of replacing my old and bottleneck fusible links Ive decided to install inline fuses for each link.
Does anyone know or have any idea what the max current flow is for each wire going to the fusible links?
The link that handles the alternator current blew on me so I installed an inline...
I've had my FJ62 for a year now. It has 139k miles and has never had a charging issue while I've had it.
I installed 2 voltmeters to monitor the voltage. It has always shown 13.7 - 14.1 indicating that the alternator has worked fine.
However, twice in the last few days I've seen a problem...
Ok, I know this is a long shot, but here it goes.
I recently bought a set of FJ60 front springs. I thought I was buying stock front springs, but it appears that the previous owner or the one before that, had installed add a leafs in them.
At first I thought about tossing them because Im not...
I'm going to do the headlight relay mod but I have a question regarding the stock wiring to the fj62 headlights.
Thy are there 3 wires that go to each of the 4 headlights?
In reg headlight mode I detected pos going to 2 of the connectors. Is the rd a ground? For some reason the continuity...
I looked around and I can't seem to find a shop or company that sells add a leafs for the stock suspension.
I could swear that I saw these on sale a few months ago.
The EMU add a leafs are made for their own lift kits. I suppose its possible to use these but not sure what the results would...
I have an 89 FJCruiser and have only recently taken an interest in the cooling fan on the left side of the engine.
Looks like it was probably disconnected by the previous owner.
Can anyone explain what I should see under the dash as far as relays and timer switches.
I looked under but I...
I'm in the process of replacing all vital components in my new-to-me 89 FJ62.
While I don't have any evidence that my ujoints have gone bad, I do know they have never been replaced in its 135k life and can't do any harm by replacing.
However, I was about to go out and buy the cheap $11 ujoints...
So I rebuilt both airfields but when I got to the passenger side one, the brake caliper bolts were extremely difficult to remove.
I ignored it and continued with the build.
Upon reassembly, I realized that the caliper bolts were cross threaded by the last monkey to work on this vehicle. He...
