My 1972 FJ55 has a FJ7x full floater with rear disc brakes. The conversion was done at Man-a-fre when the Cruiser was owned by the owner of Man-a-fre.
Anybody know what type of rotors and calipers are used in that particular swap?
If all goes well I am taking the family up into Oregon for some adventures.
We will start from my folks ranch in Hayfork, Ca. and will travel to Lava Beds NM first. Looking for ideas on where to go from there. We will have the week after the 4th of July week to run around.
We like to do lots...
I have a 2007 Double Cab Tacoma 4x4. It is my daily driver, but I want to set it up for overland adventures too. I have a 1972 FJ55 Toyota Landcruiser that is built to be a wheeler, but it isn’t ideal for carting the family around.
The Tacoma has just the stock (non TSB) rear leaf springs and...
So my NV4500 died on the way home from SnT yesterday. It went from running smooth to kicking out of gear, then it blew blue smoke through the top and started making shrieking bearing noises. I immediately pulled off the freeway and took the top off the tranny. There was oil in the tranny, but...
I bought a pork roast at Safeway yesterday. I was thinking of cooking it like pernil, packing it with seasoning/garlic and baking it for hours.
Any suggestions?
My clutch was beginning to act up, the pedal was getting softer, so I knew this was coming. I just needed to get through today
I bled the system yesterday, but it was no help obviously. The pedal goes to the floor with little resistance and the slave cylinder barely moves. There is no...
I designed this for my M101A2 trailer. Closed, it adds 7" to the height of the trailer (26" of usable space) and open, it is 73" tall, enough so I can stand :D I want to sleep in it and also be able to cook in it during bad weather.
You first lift it with the scissor mechanism then bolt in the...
Has anybody sewn their own canvas covers? What's involved? Will a regular sewing machine work or does it have to be an industrial size? How does one waterproof the seams and fabric? What's the best source for bulk canvas?
I know that you need to pre-shrink the canvas before using?
I want to...
The wife was offered a whole lamb raised by people she knows. They would slaughter it and deliver it in whatever form we want, ie ground, chops, whatever. They want $375.
Is that a decent price? I have no idea how much meat that gets you.
Anybody have any suggestions on where to find a cover that goes over the bows for my M101A2 trailer?
I know that I can buy one new from GMA Covers. Any help is appreciated.
I need a pintle for my FJ55. I found a guy that has one used, its 30 years old and made in the USA. He towed his John Deere 450 with it. Its the kind that bolts to the bracket which fits in the 2" hitch receiver.
The price is half of what it would be to buy the combo new.
What should I know...
I don't have a pintle, so the trailer is not home yet, but it is safelt stored in my folks barn. I positioned it behind the FJ55 so I could get a sense of how it looked and what I want to do.
I like the way it looks! So did my friends and my boy!
What I am doing:
-Swap in 12v bulbs
-change...
I located some M101A2 trailers for sale. One of them has the hoops $1200 and the other 3 don't $1000. All have new or close to new rubber.
This looks like a different trailer than the m416 style. What is the differences? Would it make a good camping trailer to tow behind my FJ55?
Any info...
I am in the middle of having to move and have to get the clutch in my FJ55 replaced. I have a new McLeod clutch kit waiting at home, good for 500 hp :D
I have no manuals available, they are packed.
What is the torque for the pressure plate? I am hoping the kit has some numbers, but in...
After getting your guy's advice, I decided to make my own transmission adapter. I can bolt it to the mounting area on the rear of the tranny. The arms will keep it steady and the angle can be adjusted using the carriage bolt.
I have to do the clutch on my pig. The NV4500 and transfer case are just too heavy to manage, so I need some sort of transmission jack. Is Harbor Freight my best bet for a cheaper one? I need around 24" of lift.
I made some awesome marinara sauce last night, so I have a bunch on hand. I also have a pork loin...........any creative ideas for combining the 2? Pork loin parmesan
Tonight is steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and peas :D
Like everybody else, I ordered the JCW door weatherstrip that snaps onto the door frame. The foam is too thick and causes problems on one of my doors.
McMaster-Carr has all the edge weatherseals in tons of sizes
Styles 2 & 3 look great.
