To answer your second question: An OV tuner "may" be able to tune that truck back to its factory tune, or tune it to a different tune that doesn't require 93 octane. You'll need to make some phone calls to tuners to get the answer. A KDMAX tuner may also be able to de-tune the truck.

FWIW, last week my neighbor bought a 2021 OR sight unseen. According to the salesperson, it was the last 2021 truck they would receive. It was built in Mexico the day he bought it (23 Sep 21).
Just a word of advice: You initially stated that you needed a 4-door for family needs. I just wanted you to know that the rear leg room on the Double Cab is nearly zero (the access cab is worse). Unless the front passengers are short, or like the seat in the forward position, the kids in back...
Splendid install! You guys did great! I would love to have an aftermarket bumper on our new Pro, but I do NOT wish to lose any of Toyota's "Safety Sense" features that we have. Currently, all the bumper manufacturers I have researched mention that "some" of the TSS features may/will be...
FWIW: We bought a new 2021 TRD Pro over the OR for 2 reasons: 1) I didn't want to have to wrench on a new truck to make it "my own." and 2) If you like lots of bells & whistles like we do, if you add the options that come standard on the Pro to the OR, the prices are nearly the same, but then...
I had an errant thought about making the scoop functional. Then, I remembered doing that on a 1970 Mach I Mustang I bought new in 1970. WAAAY too much cold air getting into the engine compartment--The engine barely warmed up, even in the summer. So, I quickly abandoned that idea.
I saw several YouTube videos comparing Tacoma models with the narrator stating that you should buy the OR rather than the Pro and save $10K. Partly true from my research. Once you add all the options that come standard on the Pro--minus the suspension and wheels--to an OR, the difference is...
We just bought a new 2019 Tundra Platinum, and as part of the deal I had the selling dealer swap those 20" Platinum wheels with the Rock Warrior wheels (with Wrangler Duramax tires) that were on our Land Cruiser (see photo). The Tundra actually rides and handles better with this wheel/tire...
I also bought a new radiator for my '83 4x4 from Amazon. The price was a tiny bit more (buck & a quarter) than Rock Auto for the exact same radiator, but I already have Amazon Prime, so NO shipping costs like Rock Auto would have charged. Almost identical to the old one (from Thailand) that...
As "Tim the tool man Taylor" used to say on TV: "Measure twice, cut once." You can do most of the measuring yourself and find out. Time consuming and a dirty job, but it can be done.
Ya know, even if it's a direct fit, you will still wind up with a bed that is very prone to rusting, unless...
I looked at Rad designs stuff, and finding nothing useable, I've decided to make my own like Pacer did.
Thanks for the link Pacer.
At the moment I'm dealing with the need for a new radiator. Always something that needs attention.....
My neighbor recently showed me all the "state-of-the-art" electronic wizardry in his new Dodge pickup. I was blown away, but didn't say so, as I didn't want him to think I actually liked his Dodge over our Toyota products. But sheesh, that thing can do stuff that Toyota engineers must dream...
Getting back to the title of this thread: Ya simply GOTTA get rid of these rodents. They are NOT cute! Buy traps & poison. You can get rid of them, but it takes time and a bit of dedication to the effort.
