    Late model air cleaner help

Have sourced a 1984 60 series intake,, carb and air cleaner to take my 82 NA 40 series back to stock. Not so sure that this air cleaner is going to fit or not (or if I am missing a bracket). Search results haven’t helped so far. Trying to figure out how this side bracket mounts to the side of...

    Downey headers/ stock intake?

Anybody running this combo? I currently have an offy intake, Holley carb, Downey (I think) header combo on and 82 fj40 a runs great but would like to take it back closer to stock. I have all of the parts except for a stock manifold to go back, but the headers look to be in great shape to would...

    Windshield frame to top seal

Anybody have tips on how to install the fiberglass lid with a new windshield to top seal? The fiberglass top is sitting pretty high on the front end creating quite a gap (large enough to where the big u-shaped seal won’t cover). Just slowlygradually bolt the top down from back to front?

    Spotted

Figured I would start one of these threads here, after I saw another LC at Ponce this afternoon. Oh yeah, there was an older Defender too (if you are into that sort of thing……..).

    Finally in the 200 series….

Have been admiring the 200 generation for some time and looking for a low mileage candidate, so had to jump on this 53k mile southern car when I saw it (and with mods already on that I would have added in short order). My go to rack would have been the rhino I have on my GX, but this gamiviti...

    Original family 45

Ran into this son of the original owner the other day at the local ATL Home Depot. Darn it if I didn’t think it was a bit too hot to take the 40! Would have been a lot cooler than showing up in the GX.

    Weatherstripping install question

A bit nervous about where I glue this City Racer door weatherstripping, especially down the latch side of the door. Anyone have a rough idea of how far they glued it from the edge of the door? The placement is not as obvious as it was on the ambi doors.

Searched for this, but with no conclusive answers. Have you all @Racer65 been gluing this seal when installing? Thanks

    Rear heater knob removal

Anyone know of tricks to removing this knob? Trying to be careful with it knowing it is likely impossible to find a replacement.

    Inoperable fuel pump

Anybody know of a reason that I shouldn’t take out this old, inoperable aftermarket fuel pump? It is still in line. I replaced my leaking mechanical pump recently, so it is working fine now. This redundant one doesn’t even have a live wire to it. For informational purposes, I do have a Holley...

    This week’s Amazon special delivery

And of course they had to hit the side where the headlight bezel was recently replaced! I’ll probably replace the other side at this point, too. Tired of having one clear and one cloudy. Anybody have a good spot to source them for a reasonable price?

Terminated wire question, beneath drivers seat

Hoping that someone with a later model 40 can shed some light on what this wire is. It originates At the center console then goes through the floor directly under the drivers seat (where a PO cut it off). Thanks

    Ambulance door part NLA?

Trying to source an OEM or repop plastic (or rubber?) washer that sits where the exterior door handle meets the door. Part number is 90202-12088. Mine has disintegrated, creating a pretty loose handle. Anybody know of a source or a good solution? Many thanks!

Best rear drum brake rebuild package - 1982 40 series

Anybody tackled a full rebuild of their rear drum brakes recently and, if so, who is the best one stop shop for the parts (hardware, drums, cylinders, shoes, etc.). Mine is a stock NA 1982, so it sounds like it is pretty much the same parts as a 60 series, though don’t want to make that...

Hardware finish for the front bumper bracket bolts

Having some difficulty searching for what the original finish was for these two large bolts that secure the front bumper support brackets. Anyone happen to know? Many thanks!

    Original Yazaki wires?

Looking at these Yazaki spark plug wires (which initially I thought looked like ok condition replacements) is it possible that these are truly 39 year old wires, or could they be reproduction?

    Finally made the jump

Despite my love of the early 80 series (just sold my second low mileage example), the dream has always been a 40 series - so finally made the jump. An 82 model with (other than the drivers door) original paint. Several leaks to remedy, but an Arizona minimal rust example that has some nice...

    Removed seat pockets

Finally removed the weak seat back pockets that have been pulling out for years. Could have stapled them back but, frankly, have never been a fan. Easy as popping the top two clips out, lifting up, and removing the four washer clips on the bottom. Staples come out easily, then reinstall w/o...
