About 22 years ago, bought this original pry bar set, before Harbor Freight existed, from a tool store on Harwin in Houston. Harwin was a street where you could buy fake Oakleys, designer handbags and cheap tools. The long pry bar of the set was lost years ago. The other two have survived tons...
Small 1/4” drive impact driver snapped a hub bolt after a couple clicks snugging it. Had no intention of tightening them with it. Old bolt was probably stretched from previous rebuild. Broke fairly deep in the wheel hub due to gap before the threads start in the wheel hub. Tacked it to build a...
I’d been waiting see if the knuckles leaked or not. I pressure washed the knuckles/axles mostly clean. The brakes had been rebuilt by the PO and it appeared the knuckles had been rebuilt. I’ve put around 500 hundred miles of road and a couple miles in 4wd to get fluids moving. A couple weeks...
@Big Ed Whoa, that was a scary tree to cut. how did the sap wood feel when you were cutting through it? Was it powdery?

For everybody:
Here’s a link to basic training material for wildland firefighters. It has a ton of great information that is great for all levels of fallers. The...
Here’s the link to a section of the forum that has tons of info. There are vendors here that will do the process for you as well.

I also add dielectric grease to prevent/slow corrosion. It will need to be reapplied in the future. Aluminum and steel corrode when exposed to the elements. All spots on the frame that are sanded to bare metal for a ground get the same dielectric treatment with zinc coated bolts.
In a perfect...
I encountered a similar situation with all lights doing odd illumination patterns. After searching, replacing the switch, cleaning grounds/connectors terminals, replacing old wire…I added and riveted ground to the housings of the front an rear light housings. Both light housing ground to the...
Welcome. Cool dash replacement and cruiser collection. Post up about what you offer with your dash replacements. There may be interest in a bulk order to the US to save on shipping.
The fuel hose looks older and swollen. Good chance the ethanol has eaten the inside of the hoses and particles past the fuel filter have gotten in the carb along with some sludge. Time for a full system refresh with fuel hose rated for ethanol. Should be an easy fix. Or go crazy and put a sniper...
Adding a comparison of the 62 and 60 mounts side by side. I needed a new mount and plan build a crossmember. It seems like the 60 mount would be better since it is wider, has more contact with the case, and new holes don’t have to be drilled and tapped. The aftermarket 60 mount does hit the...
@NotXpurt
Does the throttle move the choke to the run position after you started it.
Air filter clean?
Check the new fuel line for holes especially if a cheaper hose was used. It could have a pin hole in it and starving motor of fuel and sucking air instead. Mine had a hole above the fuel...
Finally got the MS460 completely built and tuned-ish. The assembly was pretty straightforward with a build video on YouTube. All the steps should be similar for any professional style Stihl saws. 2hrs 20 mins long.
Further reading has mentioned using stock Stihl parts for the oil pump, oiler...
Recently took a sawyer/felling class for work and decided to dive deep into to chainsaws. I own an MS180 that I was given and did basic refresh minus a cylinder job. I also learned how to properly round file a chain which was proven in three days of cutting trees at 9000ft using an MS362C. Great...
Pull the anti-inversion pins and that should release a lot of flex. They got your suspension tight like IFS.
Sway bars would be next to remove or just do a SOA, cut and turn, lockers, and never look back!!!!
@Megadoomer
Thank you for the pics. Helpful to push me towards doing the pan.
@dbbowen
The truck pan sits about 3 inches lower. The shorter pan puts the oil filter close to level with the bottom.
I plan to run the well sorted engine mounts. So the engine will be in a defined spot.
The Ironman 4x4 kit is pretty good…night and day over worn out stock suspension. The stock springs had grooves rubbed in the leaves, the bushings were trashed, and the shackle pins were wallowed and rusted. I ordered a kit that included new grease-able shackles/pins and it was on sale as well...
