4" springs & front extended bumpstops (best option) ??

Hi Ken, I have the stops that Frankie sent me from Frankie's off-road. They are simple rectangular 3" tube steel. They are sloted for tool access etc. bolt to the frame. You should be able to use 2".

Who's ready for performance brakes for your 80 from Stillen/Brake Pros?

Yes the price is way too much for most of us. A target of around $1,000 would be better for sure. Also I’ve said this before but I would respectively disagree that the breaks on an 80 with 100 series pads are a weak link etc. In fact I and other riding with me have been impressed with there...

Considering 35's - Need Gearing Advice

NO not at all. I am more of a expo wheeler, what I am trying to tell you or say is that these kits are better. They are or were put together by smart people from the ground up to be used on your truck with 35" tires and at that height. It is something that you just have to feel maybe, I...

Considering 35's - Need Gearing Advice

I see you have a 97 its not the biggest tranny but still very strong. 35s are pushing the limits of the truck but it works pretty well. And the only weak points are the birf cage and maybe the steering (sector shaft and power). Yes but look at all the guys pushing there truck hard with this...

Considering 35's - Need Gearing Advice

4.88 are the safe and tested way to go. That tranny is a bus tranny and is very strong. The only real weakness in an 80 is the Birf cage. You may or may not break a cage. And yes I would do the lockers at the same time as you regear. Why spend the time and money again later. Also get...

    FOR 3.5" lift install

Update washboard road high speed test Just a quick update for those of you that care on our new suspension from Frankie’s off-road. Frankie sent me a set of 5/8 spacers for the rear that was going to be temporary but I am really impressed with the ride and look. They helped much more then I...

Where To Go Wheeling In Norcal?

Green Horn Creek in Grass Valley is about the best spot to play in norcal and it is our back yard. You can camp and wheel around, and there are a few dirt roads out of there that you can explore that you can take to other areas like I80 or hw20. See old cemeteries, Gold diggings etc. And most...

"Live" help..need correct caster on 4" lift

factory spec is 1 to 3* castor. On a lifted truck more castor will feel better or safer so 2 is ok 2 to 3 is better.
