Thanks guys.
I ended up ordering an EcoFlow Delta2, which arrived this week. I’m just starting to set it up (though everything is pretty well “set up” already, right out of the box).
Thanks again!
Yeah, that’s part of why I bought the metal cans to begin with: I love the aesthetic of the old style stuff. But practicality wins over aesthetics every time when you’re talking about hard use in an outdoor environment.
Love my LRA tank, though!
+1. I had two wavian cans and they rusted like crazy within about six months. I trashed them and went with the Scepter plastic cans. No issues in almost a year and a half.
Yeah, they’re still good. I just liked being able to open one side to get something out and not have the whole thing pop off.
It’s a little thing, though. The overall usefulness of the trunk can’t be argued with.
I have several of those Plano boxes that used to ride in the back of my work truck. They’re great.
I don’t know how they make them now, but the older versions had latches on both ends and one side, with the other side being permanently hinged. Those were even better than tge 6-latch version.
Wow - awesome information guys!
I actually carry around a commercial-grade jump pack. Bigger than necessary and a long story, but I’m not too worried about being stranded.
The reason for the change is that my old govt truck had a DC plug that was always on. And even if I didn’t drive it the...
Is there such a thing? Disclaimer: I’m a fairly non-tech-savvy person regarding batteries. I’m looking at the EcoFlow batteries and similar and seeing how everyone uses them. I’m thinking I may not need that much power.
I have recently set up my fridge in the back of my 200. It previously...
I have the Gamiviti. I’ve only had it for a week or so, but I love it so far.
Mine is slightly different than the one for the LX, but functions the same, I.e. it holds stuff.
I was going to wait until I got home to install it, but found some ram mounts I had squirreled away and decided to do...
“I know car camping won’t be perfect, but hitting the road and being somewhat stealthy will be!“
My sentiments exactly, and one of the main reasons I stay inside my LC. Other reasons being security, comfort, and not being a vehicle the “looks like someone is camping.”
I’ve found state park...
I never really considered it. My previous experience had previously been limited to full-size pickups, so the 200 seems way smaller to me.
Rather than being limited by the type of vehicle, I would think a person could conceivably end up more limited by the modifications and accessories they...
Here are some photos of my new Gamiviti rack. This thing is a beast: very strong. I can’t say enough good stuff about both the rack and Tim, the owner. I tend to like products that are low-profile and focus more on strength and build quality than aesthetics, and this rack is one of those...
I’ve never sat in a LX, but given the fact that my wife’s 2018 4Runner seats are (to me) MUCH more comfortable than my ‘14 LC, I’d have to assume any LX would probably be better.
Yesterday I visited an off-road shop in NH which installs Scheel-Mann seats in overland rigs. While they didn’t have any left in stock, they did have a rig they were upfitting that already had them installed. They were nice enough to let me sit in them.
They ARE very stiff when new, as was...
Right after I posted this, my mattress sprang a “mystery leak.” It would pump up fine, but by morning, I was literally laying on the wood top of my bunk. I’m sorting it out with Thermarest and they’re going to take a look at, but won’t be able to until early 2024 because they’re relocating...
I have a 2014 LC. I won’t say the seats are “bad,” but they’re certainly not what I would expect from an $80,000 vehicle. Not when the seats in my wife’s 2018 4Runner just blow them away.
I recently e-mailed Scheel-Mann in Portland. Though their main website says they have something like a...
They’re scratchy, but not as much as the US blanket I have. Washing them in cold water with Downey softens them up a bit, but i mostly use them under and on top of my sleeping bag, so it’s a non-issue for me.
Not mechanically inclined - that’s me, too. In the past when I’ve had things done to my work vehicles here in MN and when we were in Seattle, 90% of the “off road” places were almost universally specializing in lifting pickups and putting in stereos and tow packages. There’s nothing wrong with...
